They are the real deal. You won't get any fakes from them.

Taylormade rep at my local shop recommends them highly if you can't find a new club.

and 3balls and rockbottom warranty the clubs through themselves since taylormade wont? the clubs I saw on ebay said there were some cosmetic issues so taylormade wouldnt warranty them. Also ran into a couple websites that were talking about forged taylormade r9's? I assumed these were not ligit at all and moved on.

  • 6 months later...

Just bought a TM Burner 10.5 driver and TM fairway burner 3 wood. Both listed is very good condition. The prices were really good $113 for both shipped. Took 2 days to arrive. No head covers but I knew that when I ordered. The fairway wood is in great condition and the driver is in well very good condition. Can't wait to play them this weekend. 1 thing I have noticed there site is best used to order clubs 10am est-1pm. Updated with the newest clubs they have. Highly recommend this site.

If my 3balls experiences are in any way indicative, expet the following. A decent club that is consistent with the rating, but probably needs to be regripped.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend them to other Canadians based on shipping costs (surprise - another bill from FedEx!?!?!?) but if you're in the US, this shouldn't be a problem.

Mizuno MP600 driver, Cleveland '09 Launcher 3-wood, Callaway FTiz 18 degree hybrid, Cleveland TA1 3-9, Scratch SS8620 47, 53, 58, Cleveland Classic 2 mid-mallet, Bridgestone B330S, Sun Mountain four5.

I agree about the re-gripping but that never matters to me I put a mid-size grip. That sucks about a separate bill coming from Fed Ex. When does it usually come?

Almost all of my clubs came from them.  All of my clubs have come in a better condition than what I would have anticipated.  I just bought graphite Cleveland CG7 Black Pearls for $299.  For that price I figure they would have been maybe a bit worn out.  But 3 of the clubs were still in plastic, and the only two clubs I could tell that have been hit were the PW and 9i.  My 3 Vokeys I got from them came with brand new grips.  I'd highly recommend them, and they always seem to have some sort of deal going.

They are a reputable dealer BUT : They will Shill Bid you constantly.

Check who is bidding against you and you will find that the accounts bid on over 80% up to 100% of their items.

They do such a high volume that E-bay allows them to do this.

I would not consider that reputable.  But maybe that is just me.

Agreed.

They lost me when they insisted on using the most expensive courier every time. Never again.

Thats why when you deal with 3balls you have to wait until the absolute last second in order to bid on an item.  If you dont, they will shill bid you.  Theres been many items of their's that Ive had my eye on, waited until their were about 5 seconds left on the item and then entered the max that I was willing to pay.

I bought the T-Zoid irons that I have now from 3balls and thats exactly what I did on those.  I managed to get them for about $50, which is about half of what the PGA Valueguide claims they are worth.

Ive never had a problem with service or buying a fake from 3balls and yes, they dont use the absolute cheapest shipping options.  As far as the shill bidding, thats they game.  They start their items out at 99 cents with the hope that people will bid them up to what they are really worth and if they dont, 3balls will shill bid them up.  Personally, Id rathar 3balls just have the starting bid be the minimum that they are willing to take for a club but I also understand that starting them that low generates interest in their items.

Like I said, just dont bid early on an item and you will be fine.  Put the item on your watch list and either sit there until there is about 5 seconds to go and enter your max bid or take your chances with bidding early.  Personally, Ive never felt like they ripped me off due to shill bidding but then again, I always look up what a club is actually worth before I enter a bid.

Well, I've bought several clubs from them since May and even though I've gotten a couple good deals, I have suspected there was shill bidding going on.

Most of the time I sort out the Buy It Nows (BINs) during my searches unless it's a club I really want/need.

Like GaijinGolfer said; if you bid in the last 5 seconds on ANY Ebay auction you'll do fine. Doesn't let Sellers know if you're actually bidding and other Buyers don't know what your max bid is until it's too late.

    • Day 55: 4/18/2024 Got to the range again today. Planned to do my priority pieces and then hit targets with irons. But after my priority pieces I hit a few drives and tugged them all hard left. .... Uh... oh boy.  So, I spent about a half hour trying to hit targets at the range with my driver.
    • Day 126 (18 Apr 24) - Trail arm only drill with the LW…focused on letting the club drop, engaging the bounce and letting the club pop the ball up….wrapped up by repeating drill with both hands on the club…
    • OPPs, I guess I have been doing the drill incorrectly, just ignore this.  But as they say, mistakes are learning opportunities. Let’s hope I can learn from mine.
    • Some thoughts after the 1st 9 holes of the year. The driver was pretty good, nothing crazy. My miss seems to be just a push. The start line is a bit too far right for my taste, but they are drawing back at least. Hitting middle-ish of the face to slightly toe. Part of the right miss is a bit of open face and off the toe slightly.  Irons, some really good strikes, others were not so good. I am feeling a few things, when I am being mindful of the swing I made.  1) Got to get the pause down again, and keep things shorter (as usual). One of the best iron shots was when I tried to mimic Rahm's swing length, lol. I caught a flier and hit an 8-iron like 190 yards into an area of no return for that golf ball. The swing felt great 😉  2) I got to stay taller in transition, feel like I gain tons of space between my hands and my chest. The bad swing is the old swing, bad right elbow, tilt to lower the club. This was too much shallowing, and hitting the ball fat. I just think of it this way, you are bent over, and you can reach the ball at address. So, you can reach the ball at impact by getting your hands down.  3) The final thing is the timing. It might take some time to get some flow into the swing. Timing up hands down and the turn is a bit off. Focusing on the hands down kind of stalls everything for me, at least it feels like my hips do not turn. I end up hitting a decent strike, just feels meh athletically, lol.  Short game was Ok, which means pretty good for not practicing it. Not short, but not round destroying.  Putting, doing much better now that I quickened up my routine. Line up, looking at my target. Glance down at the ball to get into my stance. Glance up at my target spot again, then hit the ball with in like 1-2 seconds after looking back down at the ball. Trying not to get to static over the ball while putting.
    • Oh I'm dumb, I just noticed I did the MyStrategy from the wrong tee box. I don't think it changes anything, though. I'll play it as a three shot hole and I still don't really want to miss right (guy I played with on Sunday never found his ball he hit just over the trees right). I think the trees left are considered part of the environmentally sensitive area because it's part of the drainage area for the course. I actually like this hole a lot. I'll try to remember to take a picture next time. I probably overestimated the wind speed. We had sustained winds of like 12-15mph with gusts up to 25mph. The wind is actually forecast to be WNW on Saturday instead of WSW like was when I played on Sunday so if I play this hole again the wind will be pushing towards that bunker. Similar speeds, though. Wind is always a factor at this course because there's really nothing blocking it. I'm definitely going to have to pay attention to it, especially with the wind. I hit a handful of short iron approaches a lot farther than I thought I would on Sunday. As of right now the only thing I know for sure is I'm starting on Ridge. I don't know if the back 9 will be played on Meadow or Lake.
