I saw this topic in another forum,so I thought I would ask the question in my favorite forum-

My top 5 ugly irons are:

Lil' David Slingers
Unique
Cleveland VAS

What are your thoughts!

Don't know about ugly, but for pure ostentation in both design and nomenclature the Maruman Majesty Prestigio are pretty hard to beat. Be sure to get the optional gold shafts.

Ping Zing??? Your joking right???

Ping Zing-Not joking ! With thick topline and crazy toe you can see at address,it was ugly. I only listed 5,but Nike Slingshots are next on my list.

I don't know about "ugliest" - but I can never get used to the headshape on the older (and even newer) Ping irons. The Big Bertha irons are just so freakin' BIG they look pretty ugly.

I would have to agree that the Ping Zings are pretty ugly. It's the pointy toe.

2011 Callaway RAZR X Forged

I don't know, I think they look pretty cool. The name is still stupid though.

i'm not diggin any of the new Callaway series. From the Diablos or whatever to the RAZR's and what not, looks like they're changing the way the cavity looks across all these clubs and they look ugly.

Okay, this might cause a backlash but . . . the list of "not ugly" Callaway irons is a rather short one.

Same goes for PING. Come on guys, you know they're ugly. Isn't that sort of the appeal? The same reason I love my vintage MacGregor Colokroms with 90% of the chrome peeling off - their ugly beautiful, like Jennifer Garner.

The Ping Zings look okay until you see them at address. The Cleveland VAS is aesthetically atrocious from all angles.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

I owned a set of Zings, and I have to say that they were the ugliest clubs I have ever looked down at. The topline made me think I was swinging a step-ladder on the end of the shaft. The VAS looked like a golf club designed by someone who had never set foot on a golf course.

    • Day 48.  Ruler and floor putting again.  As with last time, this was because it's what I can do in my circumstance, not because it's what's best for my game.  But I have seen my efforts at following through my putting stroke paying off with straight putt after straight putt (also evidence towards my hypothesis that my fault in putting is read and speed, not bead)
    • I don't have a rule book but I asked the tournament director and he could only talk about the rule to do with the ball moving at address. It's no longer a penalty if you are not deemed to have caused the ball to move. He talked about if the ball moved that you have to replace the ball but he could not give me a definitive ruling. He asked me if I hit the ball while it was moving and I said I wasn't sure, I just saw it move so it was close. Do you know the ruling?
    • He needs to play the first nine better... stop making 6s and 7s...
    • I’m not saying Jordan Spieth won’t score 63 tomorrow to win at -14. He’s scored well at Augusta on Sunday before. But It’s a tall order.
