Sorry I read the wrong score, yeah I got that impression from ak too......on tv, who did you follow around clg?

We followed tiger for the full 18 and then just jumped around to whoever was behind them....they were all incredible golfers and the TV doesn't do them any justice as far as yardage goes.....

Went yesterday with mom. It was her first time going to a golf tournament since an instance of the Bob Hope in the late 70s. She and I had a great time.

We camped out the landing area on the first hole until Jim Furyk and Camilo came through. Then we caught up with AK and Luke Donald on the 6th hole and followed them until the 11th green. We sat there until Ian Poulter came through -- they were well behind the group ahead of them. Paul Casey made an awesome par save from a mound of junk well to his left of the green.

After that, we watched the 12th green until Luke Donald got to the 16th tee, and we followed that group in. We then alternated between where autographs would be signed (I got about a dozen signatures) and the 18th green. Most of the folks signed autographs; Steve Stricker, Dustin Johnson, Jim Furyk, and Hunter Mahan were especially personable. For a few others, I got the impression that they wanted to be personable, but felt awkward about the attention. I got to congratulate each on something from the season, which felt awesome.

Two very attractive girls (who looked to be in their late teens, if that) kept asking if Dustin Johnson had a wife. When Dustin was signing autographs near them, Bubba Watson (his partner for the day) asked his (Dustin's) caddy for a ball, which he tossed to Dustin, who signed it for the girls. Plenty of tour players gave miscellaneous things to the kids in attendance. One marshal suggested to a kid near me that the way his head only half fits over the fence looks cute, and might get him a ball or glove from a player. At this point, I tried to kneel down to replicate the look, but without success.

One guy heckled Tiger as he walked by. If he had done that during the round, security would have been all over him. Tiger seemed to focus his autographing for the kids, which I can't really fault him for: if he signed for everyone who wanted one, he'd never be able to leave. I don't know how Phil does it.

Shot of the day....either the ace or Bubba Watson's 283 yard double eagle with a 4 wood!

I'm going with Bubba on this one! Rarest shot in golf.
5 more eagles and he will be in the lead.

On the other side of the moon....Tiger is starting to pout, sulk, and drop clubs after imperfect swings and missed putts.

Wow, what a shot from Bubba. 283 yards with a 4 wood, straight in for a (I think) Albatross. Nice.
Rory also playing very well with Tiger. Enjoyable stuff at the moment.

I couldn't care less. He's winning by three and playing good golf.

Haven't put the coverage on yet. It's recording.

What's "courage" have to do with anything?

He's not making any putts but he's still leading. He's frustrated since he knows he's playing well but just can't drop those putts. His misses are so much more manageable now.

Bubba and AK plays the 16th in 5 under! Just happy that AK was able to put together one round. Hope he can build from that. Luke Donald had a tough break on the par 3 where his ball came to rest on a rock but besides that he looks very sharp on the greens. Graeme McDowell could've been right behind Tiger if it wasn't for the horrible putts on 9th. Don't know what kind of lie he had on 18th but he got too cute with the flop and paid the price for it.

Yeah, it was alright. I woulda been hitting an iron myself, but still.

What is wrong with you, Ping fairway woods are the bomb. My G10 4 wood flies the same way Bubba's did, all be it, 50 yards shorter, but high and lands soft A awesome shot for sure.

How many times would you have been hitting that particular iron?

[QUOTE=iacas;556027]I couldn't care less. He's winning by three and playing good golf.

I'm glad he's playing good golf again, but concerned that his self-indulgent mindset (e.g. club-throwing) is going to interfere with his ability to play good golf. As his new coach says - all that negative energy is not a good thing.

    • This is pretty much how I look at it.  I understand there are times when the piece of mind has value. I think over the long haul I'm money ahead by never buying the extended warrantee. Hell, What do I know? I went to Ch!cago PubIic SchooIs.

    • On my car I got the extended power train warranty. I do read the fine print most of the time. Though at now 37, my eyes aren’t what they were 10 years ago.    The problem with most of these extended warranties on electronics and appliances is you don’t register the warranty with the place you buy the warranty from, which I’ve always found strange. Unless it’s GameStop then you know Alina drops her Switch in the next two years and the screen cracks they’ll replace it. No questions asked.    You buy a slow cooker at Walmart for $50 and the extended warranty is say $6, you have to go through a third party to register your product for the warranty, and it’s pretty damn annoying. Target is the same way. Anything you buy the extended protection on you have to go through a third party.    Why do retailers go through a “broker” for warranties? Because they don’t wanna deal with it? They make me talk to someone from another country, that I can barely understand, when I need my warranty fulfilled.   Sorry for the rant.
    • You may be able to find a regular flex Blueboard on the second hand market. I’m little more than half your age so I swing a shaft that launches pretty low so I don’t have a lot of experience with Regular flex (other than when I try to hit it I miss way to the left).    There are other shafts, such as the newer Ping Alta that I’ve heard good things about. And one that no one talks about. The Jupiter shaft. You can get this shaft for a $100 with a grip and your Ping adapter installed. I was talking to the golf manager at Dick’s Sporting Goods here and he has one in his driver and has nothing but good things to say about it. I thought about getting one for my Paradym Triple Diamond to play it a little shorter, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
