I took off work on Monday. Ended up being better than forcast, full sun, 55-60 degrees, wind light and variable. Course was super wet, still snow in some bunkers, greens not too soft though, just really slow. Course was dead, had it to myself and played as a single. Lets get to the golf:

I played two balls on about 6 holes to not have to wait. Score with first ball was 85, 4 F, 3 G. Blah. Didn't have control of the driver at all for the first 9. I hit a push on one, pull on two and three, Just not good tempo and hurried the transition and came over the top on the pulls hitting the ball on the wrong side of the circle. Just off. Positive note: Putting wasn't bad nor my pitching. Had really good feel for distances on the 20-40 yard pitch. Bunker play wasn't great, but ok.

Then I got to the 5th and caught the two some in front and decided to start playing two balls. I can't turn in the score and I need to figure out what is going on. I then played two balls for 6 holes. Did ok Made birdie, par/bogie bogie/ bogie bogie/par bogie/ bogie par/ par bogie then got tired of chasing two balls and would just practice one thing and play one ball the rest of the round. During this stretch hit a career drive. I just recently got a new driver and this is the first weekend. It just stayed in the air forever. Hole was 400 and had 110 to a front hole location without a yard of roll I hit some solid ones the rest of the day as well. It is almost silent when you hit it. It is a very quiet driver but I like it so far. The shaft is a great fit and flight.

Rest of the round was ok. Hit some really quality wedges, great drivers, push drives, a snip hook. Hit a six iron over a green I ver thought I could. It plays 160 uphill in to the wind. Always plays a club longer. Hit it to the back fringe.

Overall positive day. I need to leave swing thoughts on the range. I am going through changes right now and I think early in my round I was thinking too much and not just playing. I really like my 3/4 swing right now. It has a great sound and flight. I hit a couple great shots using a controlled swing. Thei shoulders working up and down seems to help me with my iron play.

Well I need more work. I am on the right track. Looking foward to the season.

Glad to hear you got out leftygolfer. My friend recently got the same driver as you (assuming the FT-9 is your new driver). I hit it a few times and loved it...nice and quiet as you mentioned.

I like it alot when I really hit it. I can't say for sure it is longer than my last but I really like the shaft. It just has a great feel. I need to keep my head out golf when I am playing. If I aim well my results are good.

Do you mean just too much mind clutter/swing thoughts etc.?

Thinking too much about the swing and not trusting. I haven't gotten confortable with my swing yet.
