I played quite a bit golf over the weekend and here's a little rundown.

Friday, I played 18 after work with a guy from work. The day before I got my driver cut down to 44" and new oversized grip on it. I shot a 48 on the front and a 44 on the back. I actually played quite well on the front, but I recorded a 7 on #2 and another 7 on #3. I lost balls on both those hole also. #4 is a mid length par 3 that goes up hill. I used to hit a 5 here and hit a beautiful 6 iron the flew the green and rolled down a steep hill about 40 yards (mental note, hit a 7 iron next time). Shot a 5 here and made that two triples and a double for 3 holes. Played good the rest of the front. Shot a 44 on the back and counted 6 putts that missed by about 3 inches. My putting is improving greatly.

Saturday, I played with my semi regular group that I plan on playing with a lot more. This was the first time I've played with more that one person all year. The nerves got me here. A pathetic little 150 yd drive. I hit my 8 iron with about 155 left, but delofted it some and flew the green. Ended up with a 7. Dribbled the next one off the tee, luckily made a double with a nice put. Next hole straight into the woods, a 7. Wtf? Shot a 52 on the front and it could have been worse if I didn't sink a couple. By the time we made the turn, I got used to playing with people again and shot a 43 on the back.

Played 9 on Sunday with 2 guys I met there that let me tag along and shot a 44. Played okay. Kinda suprised I shot that well. The tee shots were pretty much crap, but my putter really saved me today. My improved putting is very encouraging. I played some nice bump and run chips too.

Today I went to the range. Mostly, working on and swinging down the line and not going right. My contact is very solid, but the direction is a off and why I'm missing GIR's. As I mentioned earlier, I cut my driver down and put a new grip on it. I love the grip and the length feels better, but my shots are still slicing and the swings feel a little weird. While experimenting with my setup and what not I decided to move the ball back in my stance. BINGO!! Swing felt very good and I was hitting the ball where I wanted. It makes sense since it's 2 inches shorter and my swing would be bottoming out earlier.
