I went to the doctors today, and, to make a long story short, ended up in the hospital getting a chest X ray. I have pneumonia....in the summer.... thank god golf season doesnt start til the 25th. I am expected to get cleared to play the 23rd, so we'll see. Has anyone had sickness like this affect there game if they're out for a while????/

Cheers,
Adam

If I ever get happy with myself for finishing 12th or 15th, someone needs to put my clubs away and I'll take up tiddlywinks.

Yes, in 2006 I had a severe summer Pneumonia. At age 45. E.R. bad.

I took the antibiotics till the end of the regimen, but was not strong, although I felt well enough to bike. Or so I thought.

I was a road cycling addict at the time, so it was hard to restrain myself.

I had a relapse that was worse, and had to go through two more courses of antibiotics to get it out. Several weeks out of work. I was truly a mess, like never before. It can be hard to tell if it's viral or bacterial, but I left that to the doctors, but I had to stay on top of them as the antibiotics came to an end if I still wasn't feeling well.

The important thing is NOT to try to come back to soon, give your body every opportunity to get it out of your system. It sucks, but you have to rest, and that can mean a long spell of bed rest.

At it's worst, a 100 yard walk down the road was all I could manage. Even getting to the doctor was hard.

I also have asthma from some residual effects of the World Trade Center dust which I was caught in from Sept to Jan 2001-2002. So that didn't help.

But the good news is you'll be back. And maybe better than before.

Feel better, man.

I just hit the range today after 9 days off after playing quite a bit for 4 months. I feel like I'm hitting the ball even better than I did before.

Although, my off time was by choice not due to sickness. But I can't imagine it'll affect your swing once you're 100% and get the rust off.
