I have an HDTV and HD programming. All sports look a lot better in HD.

Once you've had HD... you can't go back... it's such a difference maker.

I voted no mostly because I don't even own a t.v.

Mostly???

I've spent most of my life golfing - the rest I've just wasted.

The thing I have enjoyed the most HDTV is that it has made sports that I typically have not watched or even had interest in exciting and make me want to become a fan. A good example is Hockey I have always known that this is a great sport but never could followed it on the TV but now its so crisp and clear it has made be a fan.

Yup, it's great for watching Carolina games, right?

I've got a 50" Panasonic plasma TV that does 1080p and the HD package from Verizon FIOS TV. It pains me to watch standard definition TV.

Yes, my cable provider gives it for Free.

The Golf Channel is not in HD.
But the GolfVS channel is. Some times its golf, sometimes its bullriding or UFC matches.

I've got an HDTV. But since we live in the Netherlands there aren't a lot of HD broadcasters... Just Discovery and NGC. But now temporarely: The European Cup (football), Tour de France and the Olympics in HD! And soon: Eurosport HD ;) So it'll come, it just takes time.

I don't know what I'd do without HD. I can't STAND watching sports in standard def. anymore.

HD is super, but it takes the shine off of watching non-HD broadcasts, which is a pity as HD broadcasting is still relatively niche.

Niche? I dont think so anymore. Most TV manufacturers are not even making SD sets anymore. And we are 8 months or so away from the Digital age. Where all tv is HD by govt mandate.

Does the mandate include HD? For some reason, I thought it was just a switch from analog signals to digital signals.

That is correct, it does mean just digital signal. However since 90% of tv manufacturers are all HD now, they predict that by quarter 3 of 2009 85% of all channels will be HD.

And that will be wonderful in my eyes(literally)!!!

    • Day 35 (26 Feb 25) - Day of easy work (hanging around the house as son had shoulder surgery and I needed to help keep an eye on him).  Worked on low spinner 50deg wedges - keeping the ball low flighted and checking quick.  Went with the 8i after to do low flighted runners.  Great visit on two ways to get the same/similar results.  May be able to get away tomorrow for a short 9hole round (as long as the son's recovery cooperates).....
    • Day 1: 2/26/2025: So, I'm starting over on this again.  My son brought home the mother of all flu bugs from school. It raged though our house and knocked me on my butt for about 3 days.  Now, that I think I'm clear of the death plague my son gave me. I was able to rise early this morning and get some nice mirror work in. I felt stiff like a board for the first few swings, but loosened up and was able to get at least 20 minutes of first robotic slow swings and then gradually more fluid swings.  My focus was on the timing and fluidity of my priority pieces.
    • I use a MagSafe connector on my tripod. Occasionally I use those clips.
    • Working on some swing videos. What are you guys having the best luck with as far as devices used to record the swing?  I have a tripod with a magnet that I stick my phone on but it is somewhat of a pain because I have to remove the cover on my phone and when I pull it off the magnet the tripod head changes and moves position. I was thinking something more like an ipad maybe. On a different style tripod and maybe even set it up to mirror to a tv.
