I'm just a little confused.

I think one of the things that worked to your advantage was that people felt that they had to buy the equipment before it was made unavailable, and the equipment could be made unavailable in one of two ways:

  1. Sells out.
  2. Day ends, next deal begins.

If #2 is no longer true, people aren't going to feel the need to snatch up the bargains immediately, instead opting to wait a little bit. You seem to have lost the "impulse buy" mental push that the old site had. The site now looks more like an inexpensive retailer of closeout clubs, and if the prices are going to be the same even after the day ends, what's the rush to buy anything?

If you plan to stick with this more laid back method, I think that the very least you should make the "deal of the day" a bit more prominent in some way.

And of course I could be wrong. :-)

Yeah, I gotta agree there, by sticking with only the deal of the day, people will feel more rushed to make the purchase. Of course, this doesn't do much to clear out the stuff you didn't sell out of.

On the home page, maybe do away with the Hot 5 on the left side and make the home page only contain deal of the day and the right side nav bar? Then have the Hot 5 on the left side on the cat/Closeouts_50.aspx page.

I guess another option might be when you sell out of one deal of the day, bring back one of the items you have back stock on. Or periodically try to clear it out in the same fashion as a woot-off.

Then perhaps it might be nice to make that clearer on the daily deal? Really get people to make a decision quickly. You want impulse buyers, not buyers who consider waiting. I think...

I was going to say, yeah, that's how Woot-Offs work, right.

Site looks good, maybe to be able to have the best of both worlds offer free or cheaper shipping on deal of the day so the impulse is still there but for those who like to think it out  all they will be out is shipping costs.

I think he said that the cost goes up when the item is no longer the deal of the day. I've proposed he make that more obvious to give the user incentive to buy quickly.

I would agree, something that lets the customer know to act now for that price.

Hi Cody. I'm having trouble contacting the site regarding a tracking number for an order I placed on Monday (order # 432). Three attempts, and no luck. Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Cody, great site.  I didn't see what it looked like before today but I really like it's simplicity and clean navigation.  Like others noted above, increasing the price on a product on leftover stock after a Daily Deal is just fine.  I agree with Iacas, that you need to make that a bit more clear.

Again, great site, I'll be shopping with you on my next purchase.

I liked the concept that you had, one day, one product one great price. I checked it daily waiting for the items I am wanting. Now it just seems like a discount store with no "buy now or miss out on a deal" feeling Obviously you know your business needs and have to do what is best for your biz, but I liked your old marketing scheme better. It was unique. If you have multiple inventory items available maybe carry them on that site and setup a new one www.deal-of-the-day-golf.com Best of both worlds, a variety of items on one site and a singular focus impulse deal for the other. Just my .02

When a company makes a club in the USA I will proudly display their brand here. All of mine were made in china by somebody making $2 a day. Shame on you Mr club manufacture.

Thanks for all the input, the deal of the day is our main objective... we just wanted to give customers another option but we do have a good idea of what our next steps are going to be thanks to all the feedback from our customers and the sandtrap so look for those updates as soon as tomorrow... Also on the tracking... obviously things are crazy over here right now with the launch of the new site so they are taking about 24 hours to respond to emails but they will get back to you, thanks everyone for your help

-Cody

I'm still waiting on tracking information from my order, and in four attempts to contact the site via email I have had 3 messages sent back, and one sent to nailedit@host291.hostmonster.com has not been acknowledged. . I realize you are switching over to a new site, but I'm curious why I can't get any messages through. I know you said they are taking 24 hours to respond to emails, and that's fine, but I can't get any emails delivered for anyone to respond to. Can you please give me an address to send an email to that will work? In addition to the one listed above, I have had messages returned from the following:

 orders@naileditgolf.com
 Sales@thegolfhabit.com
 sales@thegolfhabit.com

Thanks

    • Thanks for the feedback. @StuM, we are a "club without real estate" so no facilities or pro. We have a membership of around 185 players and we only play together as a group at our tournaments, which are held at public access courses. A group of us setup the tournaments, collect the money and dole out the prizes.
    • In general, granting free relief anywhere on the course isn't recommended.  Similarly, when marking GUR, the VSGA and MAPGA generally don't mark areas that are well away from the intended playing lines, no matter how poor the conditions.  If you hit it far enough offline, you don't necessarily deserve free relief.  And you don't have to damage clubs, take unplayable relief, take the stroke, and drop the ball in a better spot.
    • If it's not broken don't fix it. If you want to add grooves to it just because of looks that's your choice of course. Grooves are cut into putter faces to reduce skid, the roll faced putter is designed to do the same thing. I'm no expert but it seems counter productive to add grooves to the roll face. Maybe you can have it sand-blasted or something to clean up the face. Take a look at Tigers putter, its beat to hell but he still uses it.
    • I get trying to limit relief to the fairway, but how many roots do you typically find in the fairway? Our local rule allows for relief from roots & rocks anywhere on the course (that is in play). My home course has quite a few 100 year old oaks that separate the fairways. Lift and move the ball no closer to the hole. None of us want to damage clubs.
    • Hello, I've been playing a Teardrop td17 F.C. putter for many years and love it. It still putts and feels as good or  better than any of the new putters I've tried and it's in excellent condition except the face has dings in it ever since I bought it used that kind of bother me. I was just wondering if it's possible to have some really shallow horizontal grooves milled into the face on a "roll face" putter. I think I would rather spend some money on it instead of trying to get used to a new putter.  Thanks
