Quite frankly, I don't care if he does the latter, and that's basically all he's done - insult what you've said.

You're on a forum. What did you expect? People don't just ignore posts with which they disagree.

He was in the same position this weekend and three putted the last par five. If you know Rory you know he eats up the par fives so to see him three putt that green was kind of sad to see. I love his game and really expected him to win last weekend and to see him fold at the end left me scratching my head. I hope he can put it together and win because i am a huge fan of Rory.

Performing under pressure is something that is learned over time and experience.  In some rare instances individuals seem to always choke under pressure but I don't think Rory is that type, time will tell.  I agree he tanked at the Masters, but I don't feel he did in Malaysia, it was more that someone else played better than he did.  The 3 putt on 18 as others have said was more him trying to win it, than play for a tie.  Maybe he had the previous week in his mind and wanted to avoid the pressure of a playoff, or maybe it was a calculated risk that didnt' pan out.  He's a great golfer, and Malaysia proved he can come back from a tough round.

All this talk of the 3 putt on the last is pointless. It was either make the putt (for a playoff) or not. He could have taken 7 putts for all I care....at least he gave it a chance

I agree for what he went through at the Masters he played well at Malaysia. I do think he still did tank a little on sunday ,but he did played well.  He did show that he moved on by playing well at Malaysia. So i do respect his efforts and he has handled himself like a gentlemen. But he does have some 4th round demons that he will have to confront some day.

Being on a forum doesn't mean he needs to be a jerk off by the way he writes. But it is what it is let's stay on topic, i finished school a long time ago so i don't feel the need to have to explain myself or have a situation explained to me. Thanks for your concern but your comment honestly isn't needed.

Dude, chill out. Final warning.

You just called HIM a "jerk off" and yet he has, by and large, responded to what you've written . You're attacking people more than he is, so you're in no place to talk.

To paraphrase my pa, may he rest in peace, franky12's posts are borderline stupid, and not the "smart" side of the border either.

"The expert golfer has maximum time to make minimal compensations. The poorer player has minimal time to make maximum compensations." - And no, I'm not Mac. Please do not PM me about it. I just think he is a crazy MFer and we could all use a little more crazy sometimes.

The OP wrote "If you know Rory you know he eats up the par fives". Well he actually has a very poor record on par 5's in consideration of his length. This was one of the talking points on the radio commentary in the first tournament of the Gulf Swing. If by "eat up par 5's" you mean he nearly always goes for the green in two, then yes. But more often than not he'll three putt on reaching the green, or if just off the green, he doesn't get up & down.

He just goes out and plays the game. Very similar to Tiger when he was younger

With experience will come LOTS of majors

I think the fascination with "choking" is kind of annoying.  It's always brought up like we're exposing some dark secret about a player and why they will never live up to their potential.  In this particluar case we are talking about a 21 year old who could very possibly be ten years away from playing his best golf.

Minus the winning, and domination, and skill level.

How someone responds to pressure does tell you something about the person, regardless of the sport.  Some people thrive on the pressure and others whither.  It may not be a dark secret nor does it mean that they cannot change how they handle the pressure but it certainly can impact their ability to live up to their potential.

Most professional athletes, especially golfers employ psychologists to help them with this sort of thing.

Please please let's stop using young Tiger as a measuring stick for Rory.  It's unfair to him b/c he WILL come up short by those standards.
