Hi all- Attended my first golf clinic/training ever in my life. (Reading golf forums doesnt count ;-) Im located north of Philadelphia which has a lack of certified Aimpoint instructors. Over the winter, i was able to find Mike Dynda from Meadowlands Country Club in Blue Bell, PA. Mike and i emailed a few times (he was super responsive) to review what sort of things i was looking for in the Aimpoint Class and get a date set for when the weather turned. One cool thing about Mike and the class was that i mentioned that i was really interested in the midpoint technique, but this was an Express Class. He said no worries and we had a one-on-one coaching session after the Express Class ended. Nice guy for doing that. Aimpoint feedback: In reality, i never had a 'system' for managing my putting play. Im assuming most amaturers do not either. Im a highly technical person and just winging it using my eyes was a joke...as seen in my scores. Now I have a system that makes sense to me. Step one-get the info. Step two-practice. Step three-believe and watch confidence grow (and watch scores reduce). Coach feedback: Couldnt ask for a more knowledgeable, patient, and stand-up guy. Hes also Drexel Univ Head Mens golf coach and used examples from his recent team play and his green charts (ie. theory into practice). To top it off, going the extra mile for me with my midpoint interest was certainly appreciated. For me, this clinic/workshop was WELL worth the expense. :-D

Based on the reviews of AP, I would have purchased the DVD already; however, Eric (a certified instructor) stated that a majority would not "get" it. Why waste my money if it is probable I'll need to pay more for an actual class at a later date?

Prolly get killed for this, but going to pass it along anyway.  Get a two, three or four friends involved -- buy the video and watch and practice and then "maybe" one of the group signs up for the class and then passes the information along to the rest of the group.  This is what we have planned.

Wouldn't that be the equivalent of someone stealing the product or services your companies make?  I don't know what you both do for a living, but I think that would infuriate you.

Not an AimPoint instructor here. TOo many local guys are for me to get in it. But I am also not a thief with crap morals as you would be if you did that. Mostly responding to @BallStriker but your support of his plan is damning to your character as a man as well.

My post was intended to be tongue-in-cheek, but I obviously didn't make that clear... Not that this excuses it, but it was 3 am and I was only half-way home from the Blackhawck's triple OT win. Yup, I knew I should have kept my mouth shut on this one........and I certainly (and honestly) applaud all of the self-righteous folks out there that have never read a borrowed book, listened to a borrowed CD, watched a borrowed DVD, etc........you certainly do live lives that others should praise...

And do I not recall a 100 or so page thread on this site dedicated to a discussion on the intricacies of the the Stack and Tilt golf swing that was started just about the same time Plummer/Bennett released their book?  Maybe I am "mis-remembering" this......

Paying to take a class and "sharing" it with your friends is not the same thing as loaning a book to a friend. Nor is the S&T; example. I directly make money from 5SK stuff yet I share information and tips about 5SK stuff here. Discussion is fine, and free. Classes are paid, and instructors devote time and money (quite a bit of the latter) to learn and be certified.

Writers still get paid for books sold to the library. You can read a billion words on every aspect Stack and Tilt and never learn it. If you were hesitant to post, maybe you shouldn't have. If in doubt, say no.

Way off topic, so this will be my last post on this, but the above posts are really illogical in my opinion

If I "buy" a book and loan it to 5 friends, the author gets paid once and 5 people other than me get the benefit of reading the book.

If I "buy" a DVD and loan it to 5 friends, the production company gets paid once and 5 people other than me get the benefit of seeing the DVD.

If I "buy" a CD and loan it to 5 friends, the artist gets paid once and 5 people other than me get the benefit of listening to the CD.

If I "buy" a spot in an AimPoint class and then pass along the knowledge I learn to 5 friends, the instructor gets paid once and 5 people other than me get the benefit of the knowledge.

If I "buy" an education from a college and then pass all that information along to 5 friends, the college gets paid once and 5 people other than me get the benefit of the knowledge.

I am not suggesting that I am misappropriating the DVD or somehow "sneaking" into the class without paying....I would simply be passing along information that I paid to obtain.

Do AimPoint students have to sign non-disclosure agreements?  If so, I would consider suing Brad Malone for "passing along" the technique to Adam Scott (see this month's issue of Golf Magazine), and maybe even suing Adam Scott for using mis-appropriated information.

I can only hope you are holding Adam Scott to the same standard you are me.............

I've explained the basics of Aimpoint to anybody who's asked about it.  What I haven't done is attempt to give them all of the details or a copy of my charts (I learned midpoint).  It's pretty obvious to me (and I think most people) that the line to not to cross is between those two.

If they ask for more details, I tell them they should take a class.
