The Tour insists on fewer commercials like The Masters because they're doing all they can to make their event as top-tier as it can be. Which is good for golf fans, so, I don't have a problem with it. :-)

Bodes well for the US Open if the trend continues. Broadcasts were like special advertising sections in magazines. Harder to distinguish between real content and promotion.

Does the Tour dictate what happens for TV coverage of The Masters? I thought that event wasn't an official PGA Tour event, which allows it to violate PGA Tour policies regarding club membership. Sorry, I know this is off topic, but if women were/are allowed to be members there, why did the most recent Golf Magazine player poll specifically ask the players' opinions (asked twice) on women not be allowed membership at Augusta National? Maybe that magazine isn't in the loop?!?

Augusta National controls what happens for TV coverage.

That's what I'm saying.

The Tour - like Augusta National for The Masters - insists on fewer commercials for "The Players."

    • After a decent round yesterday i finally reached goal number 1 this season: HCP-index: 9,9.  Now let's keep it there or lower.
    • You really need to call out your cheating partner.  Never allow it to continue.  Otherwise you will either get bitter about it or refuse to play with him.
    • Or wager against them, but watch them closely and play strict rules.  After all, their handicaps are probably treating their concessions as sunk. Three players in my club's match play qualifier were DQ'd for taking gimmes during the qualifier.  Those are a no-no when it's medal play for a match play qualifier.
    • Parred the first hole at an away course today to make my away course composite even par (3 birdies 3 bogeys)
    • Day 120.  Played 18 with some friends today.  Hit 6 GIR, shot an 88.  That 88 includes four sevens (holes 4, 5, 9, and 10), one of which included a tee shot O.B..  My short game was barely outside the 20 handicap range for strokes lost, which is encouraging because I had two stubs in there (which each cost more or less a full shot each) and my putting was inside the 20 handicap range, which I'm super happy about.  Strokes lost approach was 1.73, which is amazing.
