Toughest holes and Congressional?

What holes do you think will play the hardest next week?

They have added some "U.S. Open" tees on quite a few holes you can check out each hole in the link below. Personally I think I would have a nervous break down on hole 10.

The first hole i thought of was 9. The mammoth Par 5 thats well over 600 yards. Looking at it, it's relatively straight but just the fact that its so damn long has to mess with your head.

It was once two holes a par 3 and par 4, but they combined them to create the monster.

But ya a 218 yard par 3 is pretty scary too

i would definetely be twitching on number 10 but i must say the 18th, par 4 523 yards with water round the green, imagine the pressure? cant wait to watch it unfold!

the 18th for me. even in the event that you hit a 300 yard drive straight down the middle. you're still left with a long iron+ into the green. and if you go long, you're wet.

Yeah the 18th is pretty crazy too. I really like the layouts on some holes here while others are just way too simple.

seein this course in person, i'd have to say 10. 18 in person is actually not that bad of a hole in the sense that you can play a runup second shot if you don't feel like flyin it to the green. the fairway slopes downhill towards the green so longer hitters will have no problem hitting well over 300+ yards...but seeing that 10th hole tee shot in person is completely different then on screen. that shot would make anyones arse pucker to the size of a pin.

18th for sure

You can bomb it 320 yards and still have 200 left, and you have to bomb it 320 yards in the tight fairway

I just did the math and it's almost 7600 yards as listed.  Those long par 4s would mentally wear me out.

i don't know about 10, it just doesn't seem as tough to me. depending upon the wind, i'd take a 5 iron to a 3 iron or so and just put it on the green, or bail out long and try to get up and down.

Its such a small approach though that it seems like it would be hard to judge perfectly with a long iron. Barely too little its in the lake and barely too long and you are in the bunkers. At that point, or if you bailed out long anyways you have a chip to a narrow green that slopes toward the lake.

Definitely looks like the 18th is going to be one of the hardest I mean just look at that 523 yards par 4 that's long and narrow. It's absolutely going to be a tough one.

Aside from number 18, number 11 looks VERY scary.  The fairway is wide but slopes aggressively from left to right.

If you hit the fairway on the left side of the fairway, the ball will be severely below your feet with a mid to long iron/hybrid approach shot to a green with water on the right.  The same (not as much) if you are dead smack in the middle of the fairway.  Furthermore, if you are on the left side of the fairway, the mounding on the left side of the green only allows you to see the top of the flag... ....Not pretty....

On that hole, you HAVE to play the right side of the fairway to see the green in its entirety and have ANY chance at birdie.

You can see the changes they made for the US Open, and if you click on the "how the hole has played" link you can see average strokes plus individual results.

According to that the toughest holes are 2, 10, 11, 14 and 18. Any of those would worry me (plus about 12 out of the 13 remaining holes )

wow... gotta feel for all the guys starting on the back, well i guess that's everybody once. as if hitting a long iron to a spot 30 yards wide over 220 yards of water, your next approach shot is a mid-long iron with lots of water in play.
