Thanks for the reply but I think that thread is talking about the "send $25 and get a mystery gift" idea and not the drawing prizes.

Am I afraid that I am becoming pesky and seeming an ungrateful winner. I am grateful and feel lucky to have won. I thought the contest was a good way to build a small list and create some buzz for a new company. As a new Google ad says, the new word of mouth is through social media. This can still generate some very good word of mouth.

Contest ended Aug 3. Winners announced Aug 18. Today is September 29 and no word of anyone's prize arriving.

I almost bought one of those, glad I didn't now lol.  If they are going to run deals like that and contests like this one they should at least make sure they can handle it! This just makes them look bad and I would be very hesitant to buy anything from them in the future.

There is still time for Shotly to turn this around and begin to build a solid brand. But something good needs to happen sooner rather than later.

I won a prize in this contest.  I never received it either.  What a way to run a business- don't fulfill the prizes on one contest, collect money from a bunch of people (I think the number was 380 @ $25 a pop) on a second contest, and don't make anyone happy.  As an optimist, though, maybe it's just growing pains.  Then again, maybe it isn't.  Still we wait.

Just noticed this thread and read through a few details. I didn't participate, but I think you might be acting a bit impatient. Many contest prizes take 6-8 weeks for delivery. If that's the case here, it's still within a reasonable time frame. I won a pair of fancy headphones at a conference I attended and they took so long to get there I forgot all about them. 6 months later I was pleasantly surprised.

That might be a LITTLE MORE plausible if they hadn't already done a grab bag deal and shipped those prizes out to people.  Even still 6-8 weeks for delivery is ridiculous.  All in all, I'm not out any money but it just burns a little.

According to the people I share an office with who are in the promotion and on-line sweepstakes business, 4 - 6 weeks is normal from the time the winners are selected. Beyond six is usually because of a problem with addresses or other information.

I still think there is time for Shotly to turn this promotion around and generate some good will. Sure, the grab bag thing seems to be going badly. I'd proudly tell the world that they stood behind their promise for this drawing if I get my prize.

Tomorrow is nine weeks from the date the contest closed and Thursday is seven weeks from the date the announced the winners.

The prizes are pretty simple to acquire, pack, and ship and there are only ten winners. Seems like if they planned to honor the contest, something should/could/would have shipped by now.

Winning a pair of headphones at a conference is not the same as a sweepstakes. In most states the AG's care to deal with those kind of conference drawings. Sweepstakes are pretty serious and the state AG's love to nit pick sweepstakes. If you do a sweepstakes, you do not have the option to just not fulfill the prizes or even the option to take as long as you please to fulfill them.

What a shame.

Nine weeks (seven since winners were announced), no prizes, no reply to any of my three PM's, and an apparent lack of understanding that fulfilling prizes for a drawing/sweepstakes in a timely manner is not optional.

Dear members - we apologize for the belated update but The Sand Trap has found a resolution to fulfilling Shotly's contest prizes. Winners of the contest will be notified by PM with further details. We appreciate your patience.

Not about the grab bag deal but information on my order....I opened a dispute with Paypal today.  So that tells me that I will get my money back if Shotly can't prove that they have shipped and been delivered.  So I feel better now.  Shotly has 10 days to respond to Paypal.  My items or money....I'll be happy either way.

I talked to the guy about 3 weeks after I ordered them.  I wouldn't have done anything about this yet had the guy told me "Man, we are just so busy it will take X amount of days before we can even get them shipped."   No, he told me that "Two of your items have shipped and you should be receiving them soon."  SInce that day, I can't get anyone to talk with me.  I'm good now though.

    • Thanks for the feedback. @StuM, we are a "club without real estate" so no facilities or pro. We have a membership of around 185 players and we only play together as a group at our tournaments, which are held at public access courses. A group of us setup the tournaments, collect the money and dole out the prizes.
    • In general, granting free relief anywhere on the course isn't recommended.  Similarly, when marking GUR, the VSGA and MAPGA generally don't mark areas that are well away from the intended playing lines, no matter how poor the conditions.  If you hit it far enough offline, you don't necessarily deserve free relief.  And you don't have to damage clubs, take unplayable relief, take the stroke, and drop the ball in a better spot.
    • If it's not broken don't fix it. If you want to add grooves to it just because of looks that's your choice of course. Grooves are cut into putter faces to reduce skid, the roll faced putter is designed to do the same thing. I'm no expert but it seems counter productive to add grooves to the roll face. Maybe you can have it sand-blasted or something to clean up the face. Take a look at Tigers putter, its beat to hell but he still uses it.
    • I get trying to limit relief to the fairway, but how many roots do you typically find in the fairway? Our local rule allows for relief from roots & rocks anywhere on the course (that is in play). My home course has quite a few 100 year old oaks that separate the fairways. Lift and move the ball no closer to the hole. None of us want to damage clubs.
    • Hello, I've been playing a Teardrop td17 F.C. putter for many years and love it. It still putts and feels as good or  better than any of the new putters I've tried and it's in excellent condition except the face has dings in it ever since I bought it used that kind of bother me. I was just wondering if it's possible to have some really shallow horizontal grooves milled into the face on a "roll face" putter. I think I would rather spend some money on it instead of trying to get used to a new putter.  Thanks
