I just got a Casio EX-FC150 camera and immediately recorded my swing.

I am about a year into my attempt at SnT with mixed results. I didn't get instructions but try to learn it from the book. From my observations, I can't believe how much I turn on the back swing. I would like to have a more compact backswing. I also tend to peek at the club during the backswing. My major problem is that I flip the club at impact.

Can you take a look and let me know what I can do to improve my swing? Is it close to SnT at all? My handicap index is around 13. I hit my PW around 105 yards, most of my friends with similar handicap index hit theirs about 120 yards. I am not necessarily looking for more distance but I think the short distance might be indicative of the flipping and poor contact.

Not a very good camera angle my man, but even if it was I couldn't tell you much other you need to start addressing the flipping situation before anything else! I know because I flip as well.

Hi khale. You need  to watch that left knee - it should go out away from you and not in towards your right knee. Also, your right leg needs to retain some flex at the top of the backswing. My pro was covering the same point with me last Saturday so I'm in the same boat :-)

Hope that helps.

Read this article please and try to get some footage from the standard viewpoints. Then upload it to YouTube, by preference, so it can be imported easily for analysis. Thanks.

The article's good, but to be fair, source .wmv files are fine too. Though the original .avi files are better. Or does the FC-150 do .wmv???

I didn't post the original avi files because I don't know how to extract a small clip out long clip with avi file so I used Windows Movie Maker. I will try to take the video with the correct angles and post them on youtube.

Fair enough. I suspect the trimming feature is similar on that camera as it is on the FH25:

    • The chatter in my brain is when the distance is between clubs since I am pretty weak at shortened backswings, etc. I try to simply decide if being long or short is the better outcome and choose my club based on that and simply not even try for the “real” distance.  For me a full normal swing is what I strive for.
    • I saw this comment made in a golf article... "Most golfers stand over a 4- or 5-iron still negotiating with themselves. They think about how hard to swing, whether they have the right club, if they have the aim correct and more. It’s a lot to deal with and long irons punish the “half-in” golf swing." I am not sure the "most golfers" is correct regarding the bolded part. I can understand if there is a bunker, water, and/or OB that a lot of golfers would be fixated on that. I am not sure that leads to ending up more times there. Pending your level in golf, the variance is so large in outcomes, it could be just with in the expected outcomes. I can understand if have a big lake on the right side of the hole being one of the most terrifying shots for right-handed amateur golfers.  I am not sure many golfers are standing over the ball talking to themselves, "Ok, maybe I should step back and pull the 4-iron. Am I lined up right? Oh, the wind came up, should I swing harder? What am I going to have for dinner tonight, maybe steak. (Joking, somewhat 😛)" A question is that how much chatter do you get while standing over the ball. Are you questioning the everything about your golf shot?
