I have missed a few days here and there, but I have stayed pretty true to the workout program.  I just finished my 29th day, which was a main workout day, meaning I was doing more weights than core and cardio.  The main workouts are getting tougher and tougher as they are incorporating more isolation movements with weights and the swiss ball. Needless to say, I am beat.  I only have 13 total more workouts to complete my 6 week program.  This has is/was definitely what I needed to get my motivation back to get back in shape.  Now that I am seeing results (on the course and physically), my motivation is only getting stronger.  I am not sure what I am going to do after my 6 weeks are up.  I am thinking I will keep the last few workouts as my staples for the gym and slowly increase the reps and weights.

I'm not trying to sound like an advertisement for www.GolfconditioningNow.com, but this had been way better than I expected.  In addition, having someone like Grant who I can ask questions, get motivation, and check in on me makes it better than trying to piece some type of workout from the internet and hoping that I am doing the exercised right and that they are exactly what I need for golf and most importantly me personally. I highly recommend this.

Finished!

I finished the workout over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was nervous at first because the exercises and workouts seemed a little easy, but they got more and more advanced as the weeks progressed.  As I said previously, by the end there were some really difficult exercises that incorporated the swiss ball and isolated specific muscles.

Without question, this was exactly what I needed to get back in the gym and I am going to keep this type of workout moving forward. Before starting with Grant, I was doing the old Monday=Chest, Tues=Back, Wed=Shoulders, etc routine.  In contrast, this program works the entire body on weight training days and had lots of core and cardio sprinkled in between.

I have always prided myself on being up to date on workouts, training methods, etc, but this workout also included many exercises that I have never done. Not only core exercises, but dumbbell movements as well.

If you're looking for a true golf training program, this is it.

    • Day 23: did the yardstick putting drill for a while. Checked set up in the mirror - need to get those hands more vertical.
    • PGA didn’t make Scottie their golden boy. He made his self number one by beating everybody that showed up, including Rahm, Bryson and all the other ones that were with the PGA and left. PGA offered them a way back, Koepka took it and Reeds on his way back.
    • Day 43 (20 Apr 26) - Day spent helping with golf team conference tournament, did get in some swings with the Pw after I got home.
    • Day 12, April 20.  I spent the better part of an hour practicing various putting, primarily within 10'.   I finished with a 4' drill, the double around-the-world (eventually).  That is, set down 12 coins around the cup at 4', all face up.  Go around the clock.  Make the putt?  Turn the coin over (if it's heads-up) or pick it up (if tails up).  Count the total putts needed to sink all 24 (two from each station).  I took 48 total putts, not great, even given how bad my putting is, but is a wake-up call.  I hope to add to my schedule a lot more time to practice (period) and also putting.   For context, 37 total putts on this drill is about the 18 handicap baseline, and as someone aiming to get his handicap into the single digits in the coming months, making another 4' putt per round would go a decent way ... or even better, getting my 4' putt average under 65% (the bogey baseline).  It'd be great to even get up to 80% (scratch baseline) of course. Also, to clarify yesterday's comment, when I "went for it in two" on that par-5, the "it" I was going for in two was the green, not the boundary fence, despite where the ball ended up. 😕
    • Day 243 4-20 wrist arch in downswing and some flow drills. Worked on some hip/chest sepeation in backswing. Used mirror and recorded. Foam balls.
