I am going to buy a 17 degree 910H and i need advice on the shaft. I went to a demo day and tried all the shaft options in stiff apart from the 904HB which wasn't available. I found them all the be a little weak for me and hence i am stuck on what to do.

My Driver SS is around 110-112 mph. I play Voodoo SVS6 tipped 1 inch and that lays nicely in the driver. I am starting to wonder if i would be better of going for a soft X flex though.

I hit the ball fairly high and am a handsy player that produces considerable spin. Up till now every hybrid has gone too high for me apart from the Adams idea pro gold that i own now but that has a altus hb shaft that feels too whippy to me and goes all over the place.

So any suggestions on what to do...

1. Get a 904HB stiff tipped an inch to play a nice low launch?

2. Stick with the Voodoo svs8 and tip an inch?

3. Go for an X flex in something like the Voodoo or Rombax?

Any help would be appreciated.

My swing is a little slower but...

I play a Project X HE6 in my *19 910H and so far i'm loving it.

No duck hooks...

Can play a slight draw or fade but the thing goes mostly strait and far.

What are you playing in your Driver/3 wood? I was considering the Project X HD2 as i figure the flex will be perfect. I have always struggled with flex as stiff was weak and x flex was too much for me.

my swing speed is 110 and I use RIP 80's in x-flex.  I tend to spin the ball more than most though.

why not get a dynamic gold x100?  I've got one in my hybrid and love it.

I don't like steel shaft in my hybrid and i want the weight around 90-100 grams max. I also play DG SL S300 in my Mizuno irons even though i could probably handle more. I want a shaft that is as light and flexible as possible but that i can still feel and control. The SL is perfect for me even with a 6 iron ss of around 90 mph.

I have opted for a Voodoo SVS8 tipped an inch. This felt like a safe bet as i have the same shaft but lighter in my woods and they feel great. If i don't like the result i can always get something like a Project X 6.5 for only 40 bucks or so.

My Driver is a stock Cobra regular flex

Cobra Fit-On Max 65

My 3 wood is also stock 910F fairway wood

MITSUBISHI RAYON DIAMANA KAI'LI 75 FOR TITLEIST

This is the first time I went with a custom flex because I am hitting my Project X shafted irons very well.

    • How are you supposed to classify worst ever? How many times have I yanked out of the swing, left the face open, and hit a wild push-slice OB or lost? What makes one worse than the other? 🤣
    • +1. The mRNA vaccines at least have been shown nearly as effective against Delta as original. So, highly effective. Our problem is anti-vaxxers (both classic and Trumpist) and the public policy legacy of Reagan where a huge proportion of people will miss bills and whatnot if they can't work because of side effects, so haven't gotten it even though they want to. If we got to 80-90% immunized with current vaccine the pandemic would almost totally end in the US, at least until a vaccine escaping variant pops up somewhere.
    • You just posted what looks to be relatively current information.  It seems somewhere between possible and likely that boosters will be advisable, but details are lacking as variants keep occurring and data is continually being collected.  Stay tuned.  What seems more important is that more and more people get vaccinated to slow the spread and decrease the likelihood of additional variants.
    • I had a worst shot yesterday. Our 2some invited the 3some behind us to join us to play #9, the last hole of our round. It was a 152 yd par 3,fairly straight forward. Wanting to make a good showing to the 3some, I hit first. I was having a decent round, but I topped the ball 50 yds then slinked back to my cart. I did get a bogie, and strangely enough, nobody bettered the 4.
