Since losing the left side off my face in a tragic fencing incident I have been very reluctant to post FO videos. I know this is a problem and makes swing analysis difficult. I need to get over it but it's been very difficult. Luckily my wife is blind in one eye so we get along well enough.

In any case, based on your posts in other threads I'd really rather you peddle your wares elsewhere as you seem to be...how shall I put this...mentally stunted? Obtuse? Thick? Daft? I like daft, let's go with that.

Besides, you've demonstrated zero ability to process even the most rudimentary of images and a penchant for parroting the typical Leadbetter-esque tripe that has held back generations of golfers from ever improving.

So, thanks but no thanks.

Now if you'll excuse me I have to go moisturize my gaping face wound.

Ciao.

Currently  in the lead for post of the year for 2014 goes is @Ernest Jones !!! Its early in the year, but a strong contender, coming out of the gate fast.

I almost just choked to death on the glass of water I was drinking while reading that post, Ernest. Goodness gracious that made my day

I agree ... classic.  But it might have been even better if he closed it off with a "chow" instead.  Either way, well done sir.

Now, back to regularly scheduled programming ....

It was chow but I decided not to perpetuate that particular misconception so I changed it.

Warning - only watch if bored.

Not sure what, but something feels off. Not getting quite as much pitch elbow and not as inside as I'd like at A6. Still getting a shallower shaft but not sure I'm doing it as well as before. On the other hand, I should probably just be a stupid monkey, the shaft is laying down after all so maybe the elbow is not an issue at all?

They don't look as different as I expected, the one on the right feels off though. Can't wait to get down to Erie.

If anyone (knowledgeable that is…) sees anything glaring please let me know, don't want to mess myself up.

Watch super shut face at the top..besides that..I think you are absolutely nailing it. One heck of a turn around, I give you props so many of us would stick things thru like you do. Great dedication

Like working on the swing,,score means nothing to me. Might just go to the range and give up playing... ( might happen)

You can turn the angles off in the menu, or toggle their behavior by holding down the command key when you let go of the drawing, you know… :-)

I'll be short about this primarily because I think that's the best way to help you right now, but here's the gist of it: you're having trouble "laying the shaft down" because you're laying it down too much in the backswing. So to get "back" to the plane you're "steepening" it, and then since you're steepening it, you can't reverse and lay it back down again.

Your face is shut because you've already palmar flexed so much, and so dropping to a shallower line from there is going to be somewhat catastrophic for most players.

Frame 1 is A2.75, Frame 2 is A3.95, Frame 3 is A4.1 (you can't "rev" because you've already done it the entire backswing), and Frame 4 is A5 (notice the left wrist cupping a bit).

Here's the better way to do it (Sergio and Ben are extremes, but you get the point - also note that they don't do it entirely or even very much with "revving" per se (palmar flexion) but literally a bit of left forearm rotation, too):

Another example:

And if you look up examples of Charley Hoffman swings, you'll find he doesn't do it much at all (he does it but it's quite a bit later in the downswing, or else he'd miss every golf ball to the inside - but he STILL doesn't go "shallow" to "steep" - he goes steep to steep with a very late "to shallow"):

Edit: one more, which I think shows it pretty extremely:

P.S. This is a tough piece! Also, it's good we'll see you in a month. It's tougher still to do this on your own.

Ok, so the thing to work on is to be steeper in the backswing so I have "room" to shallow when I transition? Right now I'm fully revved when I get there so I wind up unrevving, simplistically put I know but I need simple :-P .

Alright, I'll work on that and play around with my feels in transition a bit too.

Thanks.

Basically, yes. The clubhead is already so deep behind you, unless you plan to swing over the top of the golf ball, you can't hit it from there.

Virtually no PGA Tour players go "shallow to steep" (Ray Floyd kind of did, but he did it rather early), while most go "steep to shallow" (to some degree or another).

Ha Ha. I have no idea how to do this! I guess I'll find out through trial and error with my good buddy "Mr. Camera" though!

Another example:

I love these examples Erik!  This one is my favorite because the difference between frame 3 and 4 is the most obvious to me.  Specifically the position of the right elbow.  Some sort of "try to stab yourself in the ribs with your elbow" feel seems appropriate here.
