@DarkPrince - These are fantastic!

Question about the last one (golfer on follow-through) - is that an HDR image?  It has that "look" to it, but it's an action shot...so I don't think it could be.

I'm going to bring my equipment to the TST Ohio outing this weekend - I hope to try my hand at some golf course shots.  We are playing Friday evening, so I might have some good dusk light to play with.

It was just a regular shot with a Fujifilm X100 mirrorless camera with basic Adobe Lightroom adjustments and a virtual Graduated Neutral Density filter to darken the sky but keep the foreground lit. Here's the raw photo straight out of camera:

A few more from the same camera after editing a bit:

There's something about the color rendition with this camera and it's Lens/Sensor combination that gives me so much more to work with and make POP than my full DSLR (I shoot with two Pentax K-5/K-5II cameras for most of my work).

Yeah - I've heard fantastic things about "Fuji color" - never owned one myself.  I almost purchased an X-100 when it first came out, but I think the fixed focal length would be too restrictive for me.  I do a lot of super-wide shooting...

Great stuff.

We're not going to have much time while playing the one-club scramble to take a lot of photos. They'd have to be the awfully quick-n-dirty type.

Yeah, I wouldn't hold anything up; I always plan on "quick and dirty".

Although if I recall correctly, the rules for the scramble are that you get three balls and after that you're out...so I will be able to take my time to get some nice photos after my first three swings. ;-)

We only had that rule at Whispering Woods. :) Did you get any photos?

Nope...nothing.  You were right - we were flying through those 9 holes.  I thought about taking a couple shots after we finished, but I got distracted by the $12 bucket of craft beers.

Took this one tonight.  I think it's my favorite so far.  I'd love to say I know what I'm doing but it was all luck.  The only adjustments were a graduated filter and some noise reduction in Lightroom.

I'm going to keep posting pictures because I'm having a lot of fun climbing all over the area...

First time I've seen this forum, so I thought I'd add a photo or two for grins.

The first one is "Two Lane Blacktop", shot north of Cody Wyoming last summer.  It's a 6 image stitched panorama.:

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.  Photo taken from helicopter at the end of the dry season when the falls was at its lowest flow.  This only shows about 2/3 of its total width.

This one was taken more than 30 years ago (transparency scanned into digital) when I still had my 1980 Toyota 4x4.  It's somewhere high up in the Colorado Rockies.

I don't know what the plans are for our group on Friday but even if we don't make it for dinner with the rest of the Friday arrivals, I'll be more than happy to meet up somewhere for a beer or something.
    • Taking your dispersion and distance in consideration I analyzed the 4 posible ways to play the hole, or at least the ones that were listed here. I took the brown grass on the left as fescue were you need to punch out sideways to the fairway and rigth of the car path to be fescue too.  Driver "going for the green"  You have to aim more rigth, to the bunker in order to center your shotzone in between the fescue.  Wood of 240 over the bunkers I already like this one more for you. More room to land between the fescue. Balls in the fescue 11% down from 30% with driver. Improve of score from 4.55 to 4.40. 4 iron 210 yards besides the bunkers.    Also a wide area and your shot zone is better than previous ones. This makes almost the fescue dissapear. You really need to hit a bad one (sometimes shit happens). Because of that and only having 120 yards in this is the best choice so far. Down to 4.32 from 4.40. Finally the 6 Iron 180 yards to avoid all trouble.    Wide area an narrow dispersion for almost been in the fairway all the time. Similar than the previous one but 25 yards farther for the hole to avoid been in the bunkers. Average remains the same, 4.33 to 4.32.  Conclusion is easy. Either your 4iron or 6 iron of the tee are equaly good for you. Glad that you made par!
