I hope, for Cody's sake, she doesn't birdie 18

Oh brother! I'll act like I didn't see that she shot a 79.

Wow, I'm impressed. I know 79 isn't very good at all, but I think it's darn good for her first tourney. And she wasn't last place either. Let's see what she shoots tomorrow..

There is really not much to say except a bunch of you ney sayers have egg all over your face!

Anyone think she will do better tomorrow? It is supposed to be rainy. She should be used to it. I wonder how her bunker play will be?

Well, how about that? 79 for all the spitting and noise that was made about how she would never break 80

If she shoots under 80, I'll be willing to strip down naked and run around my block in town.

I don't know about video, but my wife has already threatened to get the digital camera out. I hope my neighbors are ok after all is said and done.

And luckily, most of us are all men here, so I don't think too many want to see the pics.

I guess that is golf! I saw her interview with the golf channel after her round, and she still seemed mildly cocky. She wasn't near as bad as she was on the show though..

But if you remember what she said in BBIII "my bunker play's so good".
I am surprised that she shot 79. She seems a bit more humble these days, when you see her on the news. I know that BBIII was editied...but remember some of the stuff she said? It doesnt matter what situation they edited around...her statements are completely self absorbed
The equipment is there...I'm not!

You know.......I watched the show maybe one time so the self absorbed comment has no meaning for me but I can't help thinking of Mohammed Ali when I read that stuff on the various golf boards....I should pay more attention perhaps?

I will tell you one thing that still has me in a state of shock and that's her age.
Everything I read says she is 28. I had her pegged for a plasticized 45 year old....I still can't get over that!

Who knew par was only 72? Dammit, that's how she broke 80! +8 on a par 72 ain't gonna do it!

On a more serious note, congrats to her. She won't make the cut, but she broke 80 in an LPGA event - something five others failed to do, I guess.

she can take it as a morale boost though... Same score as Se Ri Pak, Aree Song and only 3 strokes behind Anika! That sounds much better than +8

Looks like she's on her way to another stellar 79 or so.
+6 through 11 holes in round two. I don't think we'll be seeing her on TV this weekend.

Yeah, I saw that too, but now the LPGA scorecard pages I'm looking at shows only round 1 scores. Nothing from round 2. Wassup with that?

    • I did not realize that, I was thinking a more traditional golf club.
    • Thanks for the feedback. @StuM, we are a "club without real estate" so no facilities or pro. We have a membership of around 185 players and we only play together as a group at our tournaments, which are held at public access courses. A group of us setup the tournaments, collect the money and dole out the prizes.
    • In general, granting free relief anywhere on the course isn't recommended.  Similarly, when marking GUR, the VSGA and MAPGA generally don't mark areas that are well away from the intended playing lines, no matter how poor the conditions.  If you hit it far enough offline, you don't necessarily deserve free relief.  And you don't have to damage clubs, take unplayable relief, take the stroke, and drop the ball in a better spot.
    • If it's not broken don't fix it. If you want to add grooves to it just because of looks that's your choice of course. Grooves are cut into putter faces to reduce skid, the roll faced putter is designed to do the same thing. I'm no expert but it seems counter productive to add grooves to the roll face. Maybe you can have it sand-blasted or something to clean up the face. Take a look at Tigers putter, its beat to hell but he still uses it.
    • I get trying to limit relief to the fairway, but how many roots do you typically find in the fairway? Our local rule allows for relief from roots & rocks anywhere on the course (that is in play). My home course has quite a few 100 year old oaks that separate the fairways. Lift and move the ball no closer to the hole. None of us want to damage clubs.
