Phil turns in 31 and Tiger at 38. Never saw that coming.

Someone seems to have run away with Tiger's swing. He's dropping the club on the follow through more often than not at this point.

For awhile now it seems to just get worse as the week goes on. Great after practicing for a day or two on Thursday. Okay Friday. So so on Saturday. Meh on Sunday.

But today his putting is his worst factor right now.

Dropped the club (driver) again on 10. Phil's tournament to lose. Tiger's already lost it.

Yeah, he's still looking at several more months before he's comfortable with his new swing under Sunday pressure. But I still say his first win will be at Doral, and he's my favorite for the Masters.

Tiger just made a big par save at #10 to avoid a fourth consecutive bogey. Still... Tiger has the contact information for plenty of celebrities, and needs to check his phone to see if he can call Kenny Loggins at this point.

That chip-in seems to have given Tiger a bit of an edge, but Mickelson draining that par putt was equally as big. Though I lean towards begin a Tiger fan, and I know he's losing, there's not but better than watching Tiger and Phil paired together on Sunday, each gunning for a win.

This is quality Sunday afternoon TV golf. No need to leave the couch for a while today. Still just enough holes to keep it interesting.

I had to leav between holes 7 and 12, I'm quite shocked about TW. The last thing I saw was his tee shot on 7, and I thought he has a great chance for birdie...

The leaderboard is still packed. Would be cool to see Wi coming back after that start.

Clutch putt by Phil. I don't think Tiger will manage to muster a run at the end of the round. It was a good bunker shot, but his game has been sloppy today. And now he's sitting in a divot. Charlie has played pretty well after his poor start. He's hitting fairways and greens, but missing the putts. Could easily be at -14.

Don't feel bad. Due to TGC going off the air at 230p & the stooooopid basketball game that wasn't over til 320p, we missed holes 7 & 8. CBS picked up with their approaches to 9.

After Tiger's ball comes to rest in a divot, how long until Peter Kostis rallies against hitting out of divots again?

Complete meltdown by Tiger.

+3 so far on a course he had burned up in the past.

Now he is embarrassed and fuming.

Wonder what changes he will make?

Actually I think Romo might be beating him. And that's why I love Phil. He can look like he doesn't have a clue one week, and the next week he looks like the greatest golfer ever. Tiger still might get a top ten out of this, which is all I was predicting at the beginning of the week (I admit he got my hopes up for a better finish as he played the first three rounds). And the other thing he can take from this is that Phil is almost 41 with incurable arthritis and is still playing great, so at 36 Tiger has plenty of time to figure it out.

    • No, they will collect the "Stay & Play" cost at the Virtues on Sunday. I was a little surprised by that, I would collect on Saturday, but I guess the person doing the reservations & bills is located at the Virtues.  I think we can trust that none of us are going to run out on the bill and leave us in a lurch.
    • Thanks for following up. Since you're going to be booking the stay and play packages, does that mean you have to put up the money up front?
    • They're playing 16 games in each match though. Don't need much of an advantage before that number of players significantly loads things in their favor. The other team has to win 8.5 games to beat them. At a 65/35 split, that's a lot and pretty unlikely (about 10% of the time).
    • Why does the second sentence have to be true? If they're used to playing a tough course that's improperly rated, they're going to both have inflated indexes and have higher skills relative to them. If their home course features a variety of different challenges, I don't see why their game wouldn't travel well. And on the flip side, some courses and their members take pride in how hard their course is and how tough it's rated, and that bit of vanity ends up hurting them in these kinds of competitions.
    • I discussed it today but can call back and re-confirm.  I would love to be wrong on that point. Note: That may have been before they changed the hotel due to lack of room at Hampton Inn. Update on Friday Hotel: If I can give a count to EagleSticks they can get us a discount on Friday night at the hotel.  I do not have the $$ but should be much lower than the $249 the hotel quoted me. I do not have my list with me for the Friday hotels but if you want one, please post ASAP and I will get the rate and get them held. Thanks @billchao for catching this.
