My dad and I will be in the Arlington/Washington DC area the weekend of May 11th.  There are a plethora of golf courses down there and I'm having a hard time deciding where we should play.  Anyone have any suggestions?  We are both high handicappers, somewhere in the mid 20's.  $75 or less green fees, with cart, is our budget.  Thanks.

Golf in the capitol region is expensive and crowded.  You have to drive an hour outside of DC to get a tee time on a decent course for under $100.

If you have the ability to get military base access, Andrews AFB has great golf, and I've heard (though haven't played) that Ft. Belvoir is also good.  Tee times still may be tough, but 18 holes with cart will only cost you about $55.

It looks like we will be playing at Pohick Bay on the 11th, our tee time has been confirmed.  It's only 30 minutes from our hotel in Pentagon City and the $61 greens fee is acceptable.  K-Troop, thanks for the reply.

About 30 minutes south of Pohick Bay.  Good course.  I'd play here if I were you.

The other good courses in the area are mostly private or situated 30 to 60 minutes west of the city.  I can give you recommendations if you are willing to travel out that direction.

All 3 of these courses are top notch.  A bit pricey though.  They are all about 60 minutes west of the city.  Worth the trip and the price though.
