What a truly fantastic thread! This is such a fantastic game - what other game is played on 'pitches' or 'courts' that can match that!

Only one I have right now is this one, not much 'traffic' out on the fairways at this time of the morning so often my favourite time to practice :)

A course I play once a week in the Virginia Beach area. Only bent grass course tee to green. Sometimes windy. Stay in the fairway, deep fescue rough, and tall grasses if off line. Water carries also.

Forgot I had this one kicking about - the 2nd green one of my home course - Blankney in Lincolnshire, England:

These where taken at the golfcourse on the Netherlands Island Texel. The caddy book on the first picture said, aim for the lighthouse, the weather was so bad we couldn't see it. On day 2 it was much brighter

I have a brand new home course for 2013.   It's pretty tough......

7,059yds 75.2CR 144 slope....

It has what I think is the hardest par 5 I have ever played...LOL...and that is no joke!!  This par5 kills me, and I play to a 0hc.

590yds of fun..................If hitting a tiny sliver of fairway from the tee surrounded by hazard isn't enough, the layup is even worse!!  You have 2 choices......  You can lay up on the left which is a tiny sliver of fairway......or lay up across the ravine to another thin sliver of fairway that leads the the green. It's a long hole, so you need a good tee shot to even think about laying up to the right.  The hole plays to 590yds.....so it's a long 2nd shot to a small target no matter where you go!  if your tee shot isn't perfect, this hole is a BRUTE.  Just sayin'........this is the hardest par5 I have ever played.

It's a real mother.........................(and par5s are supposed to be scoring holes)..........LOL

What course is this?  I am from that area and you never put the name of the course in your descriptions!

Cool! Thanks for posting. I live in Woburn, Massachusetts near Boston. I've always wanted to visit the town we were named after.

This is the 15th Hole at Stone Canyon. It's the Greg Norman course in Blue Springs.

The 18th hole coming in to the Cahoon Plantation clubhouse. Back tees hit over residential road with water front and sides, bunkers & trees protecting left / right. Elevated green with water and sand front / back. Just a well thought out design and a score buster if flubbed like I have before. ]

Himalayan Golf Course in Pokhara Nepal

They call themselves "The Most Amazing Golf Course on Earth" and it actually lives up to the billing

From memory this is from the tee box of the fourth hole.

You have to hit it over that ravine and over those big rocks.

No one that has ever played there has ever forgotten it.

This from the 11th hole par 3 tee box at Crystal Springs in NJ, the green is about 100 ft below, the view from down there is just as nice, you can barely see people in the tee box.

Parred it!

    • Day 85 - Played 9. Driver was solid, approach shots were pushed, chipping/pitching was better, putting was rough.
    • Day 514, March 28, 2024 Quick ten minutes while waiting for the wife to come home for our trip.
    • Day 262: did a stack session. Worked on rehearsal swings during rest breaks.
    • It's been a little more than a year since I can last remember hitting golf balls and today I just got my second cortisone injection in 11 months. I thought maybe shortly after the first injection I was going to be able to start playing again with therapy but the pain while doing my backswing past halfway just didn't subside like just lifting my hands up in the air did. So today the Orthopedic surgeon put more in the backside of the shoulder than before to address the tendon more. I'm going to try therapy for another 3 months and if I  can't swing the club without pain then I think surgery is going to be my next option.
    • I was just down visiting family in southern California and we played a couple rounds of golf. I hit my ball into the deep rough near some tree's and my cousin's husband offered me his Sim 2 Rescue Hybrid to try out. And I felt the same way, wow! I loved it, it also had a Pure DTX grip on it which I loved. As soon as I got back home, I ended up buying two used Calloway Rogue X hybrids, 3 and 5. So far I've only tested them out at the range, but I love them. They're much more forgiving than irons for me.
