Golf is a new obsession, been cycling for years. Seems like cyclists are very into photographing their rides and places they ride, golfers maybe not as much. I'm just starting to stop and take pictures on the course.

Here's a picture of a beautiful par thee overlooking the Hudson River at Sleepy Hollow Country Club which is the course closest to where I grew up. Welcome to the golf obsession. I started taking photos of courses that I play about 6 years ago. Here's a link to about 5,000 photos of 300 courses I've played since then http://community.webshots.com/user/tewie19

This is from the 8th hole tee box, The Jewel Golf course, Mackinaw Island, Mi with the Grand Hotel in the foreground. If memory serves me the the green in the picture is from the 5th hole par 3. Hit the front nine two season ago, loved it!

Gatlinburg Golf Course, EXTREMELY nice for a municipal course and rivals a lot of the pricier courses I have played:

I enjoy documenting the courses I have played.  Here are a few good shots.

TPC 17th replica at Castle on the Bay, Arkdale, WI.  Great course

Replica of TPC 17th at Castle Bay, Arkdale, WI

17th at Timberstone GC in Iron Mtn, MI,  One of only a handful of 5 star courses in the country that may be better than many of the top 25 courses in the country.

17th at Timberstone, Iron Mtn, MI. One of the top 20 courses in the country. Look closely, - the green mirrors the shape of the lake in the background.

It's not hard to take a good photo on this course.  About 8am on a spring day.

JHWMUSIC,

The lost dunes course looks awsome, I looking for a course for my brother and I to hit this summer. He's west of Chicago, looking for a course half way between us

The pictures don't even do it justice! Class A establishment! Its gated but doesn't have a single home inside...just a few high class bungalows. You also have to play with a forecaddie, but they are well worth it. They know every inch of this place...at least our guy did. If you look closely in those pictures you can see our forecaddie standing in the middle of the fairway...they sprint out there to spot your ball for you when you tee off. Graeme McDowell was also there a week before we were. They only catch is that it is private...but they will let people on depending on how busy they are. Hope you can get the chance because it was one of my favorites of all the time! If you don't there are a ton of good courses in that area. Whitaker Woods is right there...really tough, nice track at a good price.

    • Day 107 - More pitching practice, playing around with trajectory.
    • Yea Club Rat said it. I really enjoyed the Senator and the Judge, then over to Grand National where there a couple good courses plus a fun par 3. The one I do play whenever I visit there is Ross Bridge; something about this course that is just good fun. I hope to play more of the courses in the future, but tomorrow is promised to no one, so hope is the key word. Have Fun, iSank

    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
