Let me preface this with I am not a Tiger fan. But he had a really nice round today. He putted extremely well. He driving was decent, sure he missed left a couple of times, but recovered just fine.

I'm actually happy to see the guy playing good again. It's good for the game of golf.

Gonna be an interesting weekend for sure.

Where in the heck is he pulling out a 36-hole lead after withdrawing from a tournament 12 days ago?

Tiger is turning into Phil Mickleson in terms of predictability.  We just don't know what he's going to do.  He could shoot 59 tomorrow, or he could see a butterfly in his backswing, try to stop, and both of his arms might fall off.

When was the last time he had a 36-hole lead?

Too bad Charlie made a bogey on 18. Him and Tiger would've been a cool final group.

Ami missing something here? What would be cool about Tiger Woods /Charlie Wi grouping? Or were you being sarcastic?

Which commentators do you claim gave Tiger the trophy and what exactly did they say?

Probably the same ones who were rolling their eyes and looking at their watches while Arnie was talking yesterday. :-)

I don't know...Maybe because when I see the name Charlie Wi in a thread I pass it up. How does one become a Charlie Wi fan? I know he played Tanaka in Major League 2 but to be honest that movie wasn't even that good.

OK, I went back and changed the past for you. Now Tiger and Wi are in the final group. But don't expect me to do this every week.

I think they are replaying it right now...I know it isn't the same when you already know the results but you can at least see what people are talking about.

Were you at a Buffalo Wild Wings when you did this?  LOL

You didn't miss anything. Like basketball where only the last 5 minutes are interesting, only the final 9 holes of any golf tournament are worth watching.

Quite rare to find someone who knows so much about two different sports.

Isn't he kind of one of the last of the stack and tilters? Or at least one that you see somewhat regularly on leader boards? BTW that was not meant to be a dig, simply an observation/question. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm not sure if he is the last as Mike and Andy have around 20 clients on the PGA Tour. That stat was not made up, I read it on here somewhere.

I read that too, but Charlie seems to be the only one near the top of leader boards from time to time. The only other name I sometimes see is Troy Matteson, but that's usually when I scroll down to the very bottom of the leader board. I don't think he's been doing well at all. Am I missing any other names that have done well lately?

I hear that Wie is the only one left with Bennett and Plummer and that the ones who didn't just up and leave have gone to work with Grant Waite which is good because he will at least be able to provide the player mindset. Many left for teh same reasons as Badds left I have heard they are always working on things and never just have their players go out and play and build confidence. There's a reason their players all start to play well and get wins early on in their relationship because they're able to clean up the swing quickly but then they get too technical and keep working on things when the player needs to build confidence in the swing they have and manage their misses and just go play golf.

"The expert golfer has maximum time to make minimal compensations. The poorer player has minimal time to make maximum compensations." - And no, I'm not Mac. Please do not PM me about it. I just think he is a crazy MFer and we could all use a little more crazy sometimes.

    • I am a huge numbers guy and if a number can be applied to something, I want to know what it is.  Even in golf, I will pace off short chips as I have a 10 yard, 20 yard, and 30 yard shot whereas I take the club back a certain distance for each.  I have heard the comparison to basketball players that they do not know their exact distance to the basket, they just use their eye sight and adjust which I know a lot of golfers do as well when within a certain distance to the pin.  My question is, what is that distance for you?  I was at the range today and was hitting wayward  balls to a flag that I had no idea what it's exact distance was, I estimate that I was at times as close as 40 yards and as far away as 70 yards.  I was amazed at how accurate I was having not known the distance to the flag.  Temps me to not use my range finder within say 70 yards and go by look and feel.  What say you?
    • Well, it was yesterday but I shot an 88 at Lake Park GC in Lewisville, TX.
    • PXG Orlando, other locations I'm sure its the same, offers a full bag fitting for 25 bucks which is applied to purchase if you are a veteran or active duty, etc. Unfortunately I like my Titleist's.
    • Latest rumor is Clarkson, May and Hammond will have a new team on LIV.
    • That's not just sandbagging, that's cheating. Under Rule 3.3 for posting most likely scores, for example if there was a 2 foot putt for par, one can only take one extra stroke from what they lie, meaning par in that instance, not bogey. I didn't check the other instances but you can.
