Your Nightmare Pro Am Pro: Who Is It?

Shorty

Oh, I forgot to pick my chop.

Robert Allenby.

Biggest jerk in golf and whiny with it.

That one is too obvious. Funnily enough, in Australia, golf fans can't stand him.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I like Fowler but his hats drive me nuts.  And the stupid mustache.  Have to admit I am a bit anxious to see how he evolves as he gets older considering you cannot be marketed to a young demographic forever. ..

Always changing:

Here's another Sergio Pro-Am moment.

Seems like Sergio was paired with the jerk on that one.  At least if that account of the events is accurate.

Who is/are the "God Squad"?  Haven't heard that one yet.

I can't think of one pro I wouldn't want to play with. Fowler needs to keep it real with that mustache though. Wait until you can grow a real one buddy.

and bunch more, don't remember them all, but there's a pile of 'em.

Just for the record...not that there is anything wrong with that.

Haha. I was thinking the exact same thing. He's going to be too old/too uncool for Puma a lot sooner than later.  Flash forward 15 years and he'll be sporting all powder blue with viagra as his main sponsor or still rocking the all purple look for flomax.

God help us all if he decides to keep that "mustache" on his upper lip.

Nobody mentioned Colin Montgomery. He can't be too fun to play with either.

There seems to be more of the European players that have attitudes.

Irons:  Callaway Apex 4-PW Project X 5.5 shafts

Here are some guys that come to mind for me:

1. Jay Williamson (remember him? He always came across as very angry)

2. Rory Sabbatini

3. Chris DiMarco (watched him play recently during a pro-am, and he was INTENSE).

Guys I WOULD want to play with, for whatever reason:

1. Rocco Mediate (he'd put you seriously at ease)

2. Tiger Woods (who wouldn't want to play with a legend?)

3. Vijay Singh (I'm just a pretty big fan)

4. Paul Goydos (similar to Rocco)

Guys who I would avoid:

1)  Johnny Miller - typical BYU stuffed shirt (I would probably end up making a comment about Brandon Davies getting booted off the basketball team and then the Lobos blowing them out on their senior night just to get under his skin). *disclaimer: my handle does not denote BYU Cougar - it's my high school mascot*

2)  Sergio - a whole lot of ego for a guy who hasn't won a major.

3)  Corey Pavin - we would probably get under each other's skin.

Guys who I would enjoy a pro-am round with:

1)  Tiger - I could care less if he's arrogant, I just want to study how he operates on a golf course.

2)  Rory Sabbatini - since he's a pariah on tour, it would be funny to hear him bag on all the other players.

3)  Bubba Watson - see Tiger - I am interested in seeing his swing and course management close-up.

Rickie Fowler...The hat, outfits, moustache...I'd never be able to concentrate. I'd be too busy laughing at how ridiculous he looks.

Tiger would be another, but it'd be hit or miss. On a good playing day, I think it would be fun. But if he was shooting poor, it'd suck having to deal with his tantrums.

One guy I'd like to play a pro-am with is Darren Clarke. He seems like a pretty laid back guy. Have fun, drink a pint of Guinness or 2 each hole. Good times.

I'm friends with a guy who's played with Spencer and confirmed he's a jerk. (But I try to give guys the benefit of the doubt unless they're jerks to me personally.)

I guess my nightmare would be paying $20K to play with a pro and have it being someone who was just having a cup of coffee in the PGA. "Who??"

This may be out of left field, but I'm going to go with Jim Furyk.  He seems like a perfectly nice guy, but with his odd putting routine I'd probably be constantly frozen thinking he was going to putt, then walking out on him when he's actually lining up...

Honestly though, I'd be happy to play with any "name" PGA player.  What a treat that would be, no matter who it was!

TIGER WOULD BE THE ONE I WOULD NOT WANT TO PLAY WITH AS HE DOES NOT COMMAND ANY RESPECT AS A PERSON.

I HAVE PLAYED WITH ZACK JOHNSON AND SPENT SOME TIME WITH VIJAY AND THOSE WHO COMMENTED NEGATIVELY ABOUT THEM ARE DEAD WRONG.

THE WORST I HAVE PERSONALLY PLAYED WITH SOME YEARS AGO WAS DON JANUARY.

THE BEST I HAVE PLAYED WITH INCLUDE JERRY PATE, BRENDT SNEDEKER, KENNY PERRY, NICK PRICE, LARRY MIZE AND PAUL AZINGER.
