I'm going to be dating myself here, but Neil Young used that line in his song, My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue) in 1979.  I'm guessing Kurt borrowed it.

Oh, I've been told. He put it as the last line of his suicide note, kinda creepy. But I guess he kind of made it famous, the same way no one would know about Molly's Lips or the Vaselines without him. I'll probably change it soon anyhow.
