Tonight, while at the range, I had a flashback to the golf school I attended with MvMac this past March - with Grant Waite as the head instructor. I remember Grant raising my hands at address - and I told him the feeling I had when he did it, was as if I was Steve Stricker; with his putter. Where the heel of Strickers putter is raised and nearly standing on the toe. Of course the sole of my iron was not raised that much, but it felt different... More like foreign. Ultimately, what was happening was the shaft was being raised at address. And thus causing my swing plane to be steeper. Well tonight I made a conscious effort to raise the shaft angle at address. Basically lifting the handle up higher. The effect was amazing. After I started to trust it... I was hitting the ball higher and further than I ever have. BOOM! I had an epiphany of this video on YouTube: . I now understand what Josh Zander is talking about with the 'ferris wheel' versus 'merry-go-round'. Give this a try guys... I think you will like the results. I know I was hitting the ball higher and further than ever by simply raising my hands/grip of the club at address, causing a steeper shaft angle at address.

Yeah even though the shaft is more upright it's going to help you shallow everything out, leading to high launching balls.  Butt of the club pointing at your navel will tend to help you hit high draws while the hands being lower is more of a cut procedure.  Also a component of guys that cuts, will have the hands closer to them (clubhead is going left faster) and guys that hit high draws will have the hands a little further away.
