Why is Phil inducted into the hall of fame so early?

Of course Phil is an obvious choice for the H.O.F. but why so early?  He is still going to win tourneys, majors and is only 41.  I guess it isn't a big deal but I think golfers shouldn't be inducted until the H.O.F. until they join the champions tour or later.  What do you guys think?

Yeah, it's kind of dumb. Ernie and Vijay are already members. And Phil agrees with you, too. IMO they should wait until a golfer has gone at least four consecutive years of playing less than ten regular tour events. You can't wait until they quit completely, because you have guys like Jack still playing majors into their 60s, but at least wait until they aren't full time. Still, it's better than it used to be. Jack got in when he was 34, two years ahead of Old Tom Morris.

I would agree, I think they should wait for a golfer to turn 50, even if they aren't "retired" it seems like a better time.

Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

Seems silly that Vijay, Ernie, and Phil are in the H.O.F. but Tiger's not in until 40yo
