I have had to slow my swing to help prevent my slice.. which has reduced my distance..  will switching from my current stiff shaft to a reg flex shaft help increase distance on my now slower swing..

You need to get an accurate measure of your clubhead speed with your driver and with your 5 iron.

Then see what shaft flex is indicated  for your clubhead speed.  You can check that at golfsmith.com.

I went to a Golf Galaxy store and they let me use their simulator for free.  Other stores and some pro shops at courses also have the equipment to measure clubhead speed.

I tried my friends r7 Limited with a regular shaft on a few holes and each shot was 5-15 yards shorter with my adjusted swing..

I think I just need to slowly work my speed back up.. bc my main issue is when i Swing Hard, I leave my hands behind = club face open = Slice..

I agree that the hand behind the clubhead at impact will cause a slice or pull but re-think where that clubface is aimed.  Most slicers have a club face aimed left at impact.  Set-up with a club right now, keep the club head in the same spot while you move the grip end back.  Where is the face pointing?  Now do the opposite, move the hands forward, club should now be aimed to the right.  Now flex your left knee, adding pressure into the left foot, that would be the position to hit high draws.

I will give it a try.. I am currently going off what the pro at my club is suggesting I do.. I am told I bring my hips around before my hands ..
