She can and did! Great win in her home course. She's now won three times. Oddly, never on the Continental U.S., yet twice in North America and never twice in the same country. She's having a good year.

Outstanding. I think she moves the needle. Maybe not Tiger levels, but LPGA is exciting when she's striking it well. Thrilled for her. How cool to win on the course where you grew up. She played fearlessly on the back nine.

So awesome to see that she won. Hopefully her and Lexie and Ko compete for a decade or two

Absolutely. I found myself enthralled with the Dinah Shire a couple of weeks ago because of her, and actually watched the first round of this tournament because they featured her. Missed today though because I was playing. ;). Congrats Michelle!!

Great win for her career...but I don't think she's moving any needles.

Nope. Only "real" golf fans tuned in to watch today. ;-)

Hopefully Michelle and Lexi will keep playing well, think it would be great for the tour and women's golf in general.

Very cool.
She's having a good year.
#1 in GIR for 2014 so far. That's pretty good form, but we will see if she can keep the momentum rolling. I think April 2014, we may have the answer for the thread's initial question from June 2012: "Will she return to her previous form ?"

Wie was not into it at all. Her face was like "are we done yet?" from the start. I'm assuming she's not a dancer.

She looked she was having a lot of fun doing this to me.

Yeah?  Maybe I misread.  I thought it looked like an embarrassed smile, but I was only guessing based on body language, and if there is one thing that I am most certainly NOT an expert in ... it's reading females.

The hula is a very spiritual dance for native Hawaiians; many non-natives who spent their entire lives in Hawaii and embraced the culture as their own feel the same way.  It's not so much a dance as it is a form of expression.  I'd classify Wie as a non-native who is true kama'aina and probably takes these things very personally.

Anywho...

Michelle's ball striking is pretty amazing this year.  You realize how good she's been hitting it when you think about all the really short putts she has missed over the last few events, yet she's held a Sunday lead and nearly won more than once prior to this week.  Glad she could finally make it happen.

Moving the needle? Maybe a little, keep winning and she will start to draw attention. For me, Michelle playing made me not only tune in, but watch it over the men this week. A final round with Wie is more interesting to me than a 3rd round of the tournament after the Masters...

    • I would recommend spending some time at the range and film your swing. You can post it in the Member Swings thread. At the range, you can figure out how to control the driver a bit more. We can offer some pointers once you post in the Member Swings section.
    • With the H4 or the watch, you tag the club before hitting by putting the tag next to the device. The tag is on the club butt end. After a round, you don’t really think about it too much. You just do it. I don’t know how far you are from @phillyk, but he may know an instructor in your area.
    • So the biggest issue right now is marrying the hands down with an athletic turn. I can get stuck not turning. Things get interesting from there.

    • Hi everybody!  I am new to the golf game. I have taken some lessons and got fitted for clubs a couple of months ago. I usually score between 110-120 for 18 holes.  I bought a Stealth driver last year and have been hitting consistently with it 210-230 yds on the simulator. But when I take it out on the course, every drive is a severe slice!  I played 18 holes yesterday at the club where I belong. I removed the driver from my bag and used the 5 iron to drive with. I hit straight 16 out of 18 drives, 180 - 200 yds. I used the 5i - putter for the rest of my game.  I ended the day with a 92. Question: Does it make sense for me to continue playing with irons only until I get further along in my game before I reintroduce the Driver and woods again? Or should I continue to struggle with the Driver and woods and shoot in the 100’s again? To me it’s a no brainer, but for those more advanced I am interested to get feedback.
