Trust.....

Right!.... What I find myself doing after aligning my putt would be to say to myself, "that doesn't look right" then putt on a line different from the line on the ball, and miss... The original line mark was the right one. I keep telling myself to trust it, and over and over I fail to do so.... "what a stupid I am!"

I bought a Line-M'-Up in my last trip to Golf Galaxy, and I have yet to regret it. Not only did I basically get it for free with a coupon I had, but it'd helped me line up putts from any distance. I love it.

im pretty sure this has been mentioned but i think the best way to get a sharpie line is to just use a Gatorade ring. I own a line m up too though and it works good, but for like 5 bucks more.

I always line up putts with the alignment mark on my balls which virtually all balls have on them these days. (Not normally as well defined as the new ProV's I will admit) I also always put unique markings on my balls to identify them. I can't beleive some people don't do this as you need to be able to identify your ball without lifting it or maybe you always hit it dead straight and know exactly where it is!

I would have put a smiley face on my post, but I find emoticons to be a little girly. I'm not saying you are girly for using emoticons, I'm just saying I'm girly if I use an emoticon. I worked too hard growing this hair on my back to turn back now.

That's some funny shiate!

I don't care how you are !! C'Mon man...you know you want to click that little winking smiley sometimes

On topic...My B330 ball doesn't have a seam ;)

I don't draw a line, but my new Sun Mountain golf bag came with one of those little plastic templates. I tried it on a couple of brand new sacrificial Pro V1's to see what it would look like. Haven't tried it on the green yet.

This is just my opinion, but I wish the USGA would outlaw this and the range finders!

what about a sharpie line on a ball makes the game untraditional? If you truly wanted to play the game traditionally, you'd use persimmon woods and hickory shafts, and a wound ball. Do you? I once read an interview with Jack, where he stated that he thought one of Tiger's strongest putting attributes was the ability to pick a line and trust it. Interesting, i thought. third post in a rows the charm :) I have an odyssey 2-ball putter. I feel like I'm cheating with that club. I'm money on anything inside 8 feet. Anyone with a two ball, when you're standing over the ball, move the putter back from the ball about 6 inches. you'll get an excellent assist with where the putter is aimed. its why i feel like i'm cheating with that putter.

how can i draw at straight line on mine without out one of those align things???? I can't get to golf town anytime soon.

Use the ring from a Gatorade bottle.

I not only don't use a line, but I make sure I see nothing on the ball as I putt. Face the blank part up.

I've tried the line system, but I feel like if the line is off, it'll take me forever to line it up excatly how I want it. Nobody would want to play with me.

I don't like any markings on my golf ball (other than what came with it), so I will use the alignment arrow that's printed on the ProV1. However, if I start to miss my putts too long or too short, then I stop using the arrow. At that point, I've become too concerned with the line instead of what I should be concerned with, which is the speed.

The last two posters pretty much summed it up for where I'm at right now.

I'm utilizing the line on the ProV1 right now and feel, well, "WTF, I gotta steer it" over the ball.

Grew up putting by hitting the Titleist label and aligning with a marker/small blemish ahead of the ball.

As an aside, I play balls I find. Balls marked with Sharpie "overmarked" Idiot Marks, I give away or put them in my bag for chipping, no matter what their condition. I prefer a subtle marking of the ball.
