If you want to get a quizzical look from a golfer who wears their sunglasses upside down behind their head, ask them why... The answer, of course, is that the professionals do it . (and they do it so that their sponsor's logos will show up unobstructed on tv, etc) This got me to wonder if there are other counter-intuitive things that are done just because the pros do it.. (excluding slow play)

Zach Johnson doesn't even take his sunglasses off.

I have no idea how anyone plays with sunglasses on.

I wonder how long it will take, for everyone to start putting their putter headcovers in their back pocket. (the guy at the us open).

I've actually started playing with sunglasses on. Only take them off when putting. It's nice not having to squint my eyes for 2-4 hours on the course. Haven't experienced a single issue with this. Once they are on, I don't notice them anymore. When removing them, I put them on the top of my cap. It feels like I'm about to lose them all the time if I put them behind my head. People mimicking sports stars is nothing new.

I have always putted with head cover in my back pocket (except for the time I used the futura putter). Not sure why I started doing that but have done it for over 25 years now.

Really? I've never seen that before, well until I saw the guy at the open.

Where do you put your glove then?

I've putted that way from time to time. I've seen others do it too.

I don't wear a glove, though.

I've only done this occasionally, but I thought it was fairly odd for a professional to be doing this especially when caddies usually take the head cover off before he gives you the putter. As for the sunglasses, I do use it, but I usually take them off before a shot/putt. I can't seem to hit the golf ball with it on.

Yeah me too. Never thought anything about it. I used to get tired of losing them after forgetting to put it back on so I started either putting it in my pocket or dropping it off the green next to whatever wedge I used to get on the green. I never take my gloves off to putt. Waste of time in my opinion. It doesn't feel any different to me so I leave them on. However I'm not quite cool enough to wear my shades upside down on the back of my hat.

It took a while but I finally found some good sunglasses to wear - found a pair of lightweight wrap arounds at a cycling store.  I'm afraid of the long term effects of sun exposure on my eyes.  For a lot of years I wore glasses (with some tint) but then had RK surgery and then needed the sunglasses.  Another form of protection along with sunscreen and a hat (I, ahem, REALLY need the hat if you get my drift).  But if the sun goes in or begins to set the glasses go into the case - can't wear them on the bill of the cap or especially on the back of my head.

i've been putting my putter cover in my rear left pocket when putting since I started playing. Scorecard holder and glove go in the right.

Putt with sunglasses on, especially if it's very sunny, the lenses help me see the grain and slopes a little better since I had cataract surgery about 15 years ago and probably with need it again in about 5 years.   I can't hit my irons with the sunglasses on, it's too distracting.

I always play with sunglasses on.

First of all, I don't have to squint.

Secondly, it keeps my contacts from drying out or becoming uncomfortable from riding in the cart and the wind.

Thirdly, I look like a goofy bastard when I wear hats.

I wear glasses, so wear prescription sunglasses all the time has never been an issue for me.  I put the head cover on an alignment stick in my bag.

I wear sunglasses for all outdoor activites. I even have some with low light lenses, Tifosi nightlight. I don't wear a hat some no upside down moves for me. For golf I wear glasses with golf specific lenses, makes the course look high def. Been doing the putter cover in pocket thing for years.
