I know that you have 45 seconds to hit shot from fairway.  Is if different for chipping and putting?  I watched Ben Crane take 2 min 15 seconds on the 18th Hole at Bridgestone onThursday to hit a chip shot. BTW they were a good hole behind the group in front of them!

Ben Crane needs to be penalized strokes every single week he plays. That's the only thing that'll work at this point...

The allowed times are the same for all shots (60 seconds for the first to play each stage of the hole, 40 seconds for the rest of the players in the group), but the limits only apply when the group has been put on the clock. If the group ahead of you is playing faster than normal, it's possible to get a hole behind and still not get put on the clock.

How hard would it be to put a shot clock up near the green?  It seems like once these guys get near the green, everything comes to a screeching halt!  Mark the ball, check the line, practice strokes, step up to the ball, stand over it for 30 seconds, make the stroke, mark the ball, playing partner begins his routine, repeat.

Just put a big shot clock on a stand.  Start it after the playing partner makes contact - either putting or chipping.  You'd only need 18 shot clocks to cover the whole course.

Yeah, it is pretty nuts.  I watched Kevin Na and Ben Crane (same group) on Friday (i think) at The Masters play a hole.  Kevin was short of a greenside bunker and short sided himself so he had to hit a almost perfect shot to stop it close to the hole.  It felt like 5 minutes (i am sure it was not but it seemed like it).  And to follow that, Ben was in the greenside bunker and took forever to hit as well.

It was painful to watch

    • Played 27 Holes today made 7 birdies today finally birdied the 1st, just the second and third left to birdie.
    • I’ll pass that along to him and his people.  👍
    • Played my second round (ever) at the course that I think will be a home course for me next year (the complex has two 18s... I have played the other 18, but not in over a decade).  Birdied #13 to improve my away composite to five birdies and a total of -4 (I still have yet to par a hole nine in 2021 ... anywhere).  My two-round composite at that course is a 77.  By contrast, no birdies so far at my home course (well beyond two rounds played... and at least three scheduled in the next two weeks!), and three holes there I've yet to par.
    • Jesus, it’s not just white people who are offended. Just because he isn’t doesn’t mean many more native Americans are not. This line of logic is just idiotic.
    • I talked to my buddy, 100% Navajo, about this thread.  His response was to shake his head, laugh and say “Leave it to the arrogant white man to tell us what we should be offended by…” Just thought I’d share.  I’m sure the arrogant white men here will continue to tell him he’s wrong though…  😂
