This is the first time at the end of a match that a pro didnt take his hat off to shake his opponents hand. Jim Furyk and Matt Kuchar never took there hat off to shake hands with their opponent. Maybe it was because they were so devastated losing they forgot . I still think that was disrespectful to their opponents.

Two thumbs up compared to Kaymer pulling a disappearing act after his match.

I do applaud whatever gets people to stop this ridiculous new "tradition" of hat post round hat removal.

I distrust anyone that would make an issue of something like that (like the stuffed shirt that puffed his chest, and disrespectfully interupted, Fowler for wearing his hat backwards at a press conference).

I agree with every post on here, save for the OP.

But, mostly, as a dude who's hair is disappearing faster and faster every day, I agree with Sean.

I don't think it was purposeful.  In every other match, hats were removed.  In both cases you could tell they were congratulating their opponent.  I think it was just an oversight.

Believe me, nobody wants to see my hair when the hat comes off (although Furyk doesn't have to worry about that)

Yea, Furyk and Strickler are both bald and Tiger ain't far back. Or maybe it was fear of sunburn.  If you played 'Sir Nick Faldo'  would you curtsy or bow  on the 18th?

Kind of a worthless thread as this is a non-issue but I like it that pro's take off their caps when they shake hands post round. It shows respect and in a way separates the commercialism from the competition.

    • Good for Bubba to speak out about his problems, and it's even better that he's found his own way of dealing with his anxiety.  What struck me as somewhat odd is that there's not much mention of any sort of professional therapy.  From my own experience, I've found it quite helpful, though damn expensive.
