I have one book created by Mark from Pasatiempo, it is really really good. I would love to be able to map my home course with the same detail.

Interesting that he initially uses GPS...from other postings, I gathered that laser was more accurate, but I could see how GPS might be easier to work with

How much does Long get for each of his books? Seems he might make more from the selling of the books than he makes caddying in any given week. Especially on new courses that players may not have seen before.

I presume he is referring to the kind of GPS surveyors use (we have one at my office) which are EXTREMELY accurate.  These are machines (not totally unlike the surveying equipment shown in the video) that are more expensive than most of our cars.  When we talk about GPS systems on these threads, we're talking about $300 handhelds that certainly don't have the same level of technology.  Furthermore, a lot of the inaccuracies in the handhelds can possibly be attributed to the actual mapping as opposed to the tech.
