Normal, smooth 56 degree wedge. 100 is a treat. My 56 is 100-110 as a general range, but rarely do I find 100 even. 105 I am very comfortable, 110 I feel is no margin for error and 100 is taking it nice and easy. I don't like being 95 or 115.

This is pretty much me except chocked down about an inch.   I'd rather be 110 away with the 56*.  I only hit my 60* about 75, 80 yds max comfortably, so there's a small gap inside 100 where I'm kinda in between clubs.  I don't hit my less than full swings well at all anymore.  Should probably work on that though.

My 54* vokey covers this distance fairly easy and to nail 100 yards on the button I take just the smallest bit of force on the swing away in a no wind situation.

My Callaway X Hot 50* AW full swing. This is a par 3 101 yds. Used the AW

Of course, I went on to birdie it.

I have a 58 55 54 52 50 with all these clubs I can hit 90 yds no wind, and with a PW the ball goes 110-120, I shank 3/4 swing. So I am in a spot, no 100 yd club, in Denver they all go 100 yds. in Florida 90yds.

It use to be my AW, with a full swing  2+ years ago. 15 years ago it was my SW. Now it's a 9i with a nice easy swing. Of course it depends on what's between my ball and the pin. I can hit a 7i punch shot, up hill,  the same distance. Right now my dispersion from 100 yards is about 6% on the fly. Slowly but surely it will get some what better. Playing my 8th round on my own come back trail tomorrow. Last 7 rounds have me averaging 85.7 strokes. Having fun, and flirting with the Cart Ladies.

I put the ball back in my stance and hit a 3/4 56. Quite a few fairways where i am get a little, uh, crusty, at times and hitting a magnum chip takes a thin shot out of the equation.

a 7/8 PW for me. The closer Iget to the hole the better. 30-50 yards is my 60* W. Just have to know how hard to swing. Dial that in and you will get closer than 100 yards.

Depends really, some days its my 52 degree wedge, some days my 56, others might be a PW. Just all depends on the conditions :) Regards Mailman

Full 58 or a little knock down 54. Depends on the slope of the green. 58 has lots of spin.

Hit my gap about 105 and my sand 95. It's usually much easier for me to get a bit more distance than it is to swing less than with a full swing. That's why I have a PW, AW, SW, 58* and 62* wedge.

My GW goes about 90-95 and PW goes about 110-115. If the PIN is 100 away and in the front of the green I'll choke down on the PW. If it's in the back of the green I'll hit a hard solid GW. If it's 100 to the middle of the green I'll hit GW if pin is in front or PW if pin is in back.

Answer will probaly be just get more practice, but from hundred yards i can control my distance with my pw but can get the stopping power, if i use my 56 I cant control my distance, im either long or short but stop on a dime when I get distance correct, is it best to choke down on my sw to control distance or shortn my back swing which is more reliable?

54 is about right.

I guess I could push a 56 to 100 yards, but it would be highly unreliable mainly because it has less bounce than a 54. My son hits his 56 100 yards and it's a towering high shot, but he can also drive very far.

PW mostly, or a 9i or 8i... it depends.

I wouldn't be taking a full swing with any of them.  A full swing with my SW is about 90 yards.

Regardless, why would someone take a full swing from 100 yards?

    • Agree. The next omission needs to be that ridiculous team concept. Nobody cares about a team when they really don’t represent anything except being a group of diminished morality and/or washed up pro golfers. Or wait, we’ve also got total nobodies who’ve accomplished nothing who now get a participation trophy! Doesn’t that sound invigorating!
    • LIV moving to 72 holes is a subtle admission that 54 holes was nothing but a joke all along.
    • I was going to start a thread, but this seems like the place.  Yesterday I played my matchplay match at my local club.  My opponent is a notorious sandbagger by reputation.  The pro once pulled his tournament rounds from the past several years and said that it is impossible his tournament rounds are legit based on his handicap. here is what happened last night.  I am getting 4 shots from him.  His current handicap index is 15.3 i shot 45 on the front.   Was down 4 after nine, he had three birdies and shot even par. I was closed out on thirteen, we halved with a bogey.  That bogey put him one over par for his round.   He then took a triple on 14 and then left. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he lied about his score.   I wrote down on my scorecard what the score was.  He put higher values that didn’t affect the outcome of the match to pad his score and apparently make it not look as obvious.   He shot 36 on the front, but claimed 40.  The higher values for his score were in the online scoring app our club uses.  He did it this way: I won #7. He had a 2 foot putt for par that if he made would still lose the hole.   He picked up and said it didn’t matter since I won.  He took a 5 instead of a 4 after picking up a gimme. on #8 his approach shot on this par 4 was 8 inches.  I verbally conceded the putt but I had hit into a hazard.  I finished the hole with a 6.  Instead of birdie he put in for par. on #9, another par 4, his approach was to 18 inches.  I missed my par putt and then knowing how close I verbally conceded the putt.  I missed my bogey putt, he never conceded mine.  Instead of birdie he put down a bogey. He padded his score by 4 shots on the front.  And then did again on 10.  I rinsed one and made 6 on a par 4.  I putted out and he was fishing balls out of the lake so I drove off to the next tee.  He had 15 feet laying two but claimed a 5.     love to know the odds of a 15 handicap being even thru 12 holes on a round of golf.
