Cink tweeted a New Years Message last night along with a picture of his new Taylor made R1 staff bag. Wonder why the switch? And I have no idea why this type of news interests me but it does. Lol

I haven't heard that rumor with Rory and Nike but I haven't been searching for it either.  As for Cink, his game has been hurting.

I thought that had moved beyond rumor to done deal no?

It's a done deal, the ink has long dried on Rory's new contract with Nike.  He will start off the 2013 season with Nike bag and clubs.

Cink?  No big loss.  He's not crucial to Nike's marketing strategy.  If you asked 100 casual golf fans, I doubt more than 10 of them even knew that Cink plays Nike gear.

According to Golf Channel Kyle Stanley and Nick Watney signed head to toe Nike deals. Also there will be a "major" announcement by Nike on Jan 14. This will no doubt be Rory to Nike Day.

I saw Stewart Cink drive out of Sugarloaf the other day while waiting to pick up my daughter.  If I hadn't, I would not have been sure he still existed.

Haven't been a fan of Cink since he gave himself a perfect lie in a "waste area" at Harbor Town. No loss to Nike.

Thanks for the link, I wasn't aware of the lawsuit.  It will be interesting to see how it goes.

If Oakley has a valid right of first refusal clause in their contract they could potentially block the deal for clothing and eyewear.  Seems the issue will be what percentage of the contract Nike assigns to clothing and eyewear and if Oakley will choose to match it.  Oakley used 33% in their calculations but I'd expect Nike would assign at least 50% to clothing given their overall market share in golf clothing and shoes is much higher compared to equipment

My guess is Nike will pay Oakley some amount of money and this will go quietly into the night. Nike has too much riding on this announcement to let a legal issue hang over it.

TM can have Baldy with my blessing but I'm seriously upset about Rob Rock.

Heck, I consider myself a pretty serious golfer, and even I didn't know Cink played Nike gear.

But then again, I don't follow who plays which equipment.  I only care about which equipment feels/plays for me.

I'm pretty sure you haven't reached superstar status (or maybe even star status) if Nike has to put your name on the poster

    • You might want to try a can of Bar Keepers Friend. Yes, it is abrasive, so just wet a sponge and dab it on. It has oxalic acid (no bleach like "Comet" kitchen cleanser), and it works wonders on stainless steel and other metals. Try it on a small area first to see what happens.
    • Fair   My uneducated thought: the big miss is the penalty area. If you want to optimize score, missing into the bunker (likely 5) is better than missing right into the penalty (possible 6). With that, your strategy seems sound and if you hit a committed shot, you get a bunker 5% of the time, take your medicine and hopefully get a putt for par but accept bogey. You may find yourself in a penalty situation 2-3% of the time and accept the associated outcome. The vast majority of the time though you are giving yourself a good approach shot into the green.
    • I walk 30 mins a day on my lunch break. It is not very intense (since i dont want to get sweaty in my work clothes), so just a touch above leisurely. 3 days a week I walk on the treadmill for 60 mins. I alternate the incline from 4 to 10 for a couple minutes, once every ten minutes. I lift my kettlebells nearly everyday. I have a couple complex routines. I find just 15 minutes and my heart rates is elevated
