You might want to look at the video again. Pollack wouldn't have been close to hitting the throat or jaw. And launching is a bit of stretch. Now if it was worth it for Pollack to deliver the head butt or not is hard to say. Maybe he felt that Pollack would have put a helmet on the ball. Or probably the likely result is that he just reacted in the .1th of second and what happened happened.

Have you seen that brace he's wearing on his arm? It actually seems more likely that's what his arm acually looks like, and they just took off the skin and we are looking at the bionic skelton.

looks like early money went to DEN and NE, moving the lines to -10 (from -8.5 and -9 respectively). SF has been a three point favorite since the open, and ATL has gone from -2 to -3. hard to go

So no fines for Tom Brady purposely trying to kick Ed Reed in his nads twice???? QB's are almost untouchable, but pretty boy Tom gets his panties in a bunch because he dosen't have a comfortable pocke

"Launching" isn't a bit of a stretch, it's an enormous stretch.  He was "breaking down" (I haven't played football in a long time, I don't remember if that's the right terminology ... but he was actually slowing down getting ready to react to a cut) to make a tackle.  Ridley brought the lions share of the force to that collision.

Side note:  He (Pollard) gets a lot of flack for having injured a few Patriots in the last few years with dirty play.  I've seen all the replays and I just don't see it.

I don't think Pollard gets flak for injuring Patriots by being dirty. The Brady hit wasn't dirty based on the way they called QB hits at the time, he never actually touched Welker, and the tackle on Gronk that injured his ankle was a fluke, not malicious. I think people just remarked at the irony of one guy injuring three (now four) key players.

Fair enough ... I guess I just read too much Bill Simmons ;)

P.S.  Holy Crap Jetfan, I had not seen that bad lip reading video yet ... f-ing hilarious!!!!  (The Key and Peele one is funny too but I had seen that) :)

Thanks for the laughs!

The Key and Peele one is a few months old but I still laugh every time. And it's a travesty that we do not yet have a member named "X-Wing @Aliciousness," "EEEE EEEEEEEEE," or "The Player Formerly Known as Mousecop." And I've yet to listen to Monday's podcast with Cousin Sal because I'm still in mourning.

I agree. My only criticism of that video is that none of those players said they were from "the U."

    • That one really shouldn't be an issue - if you see it happening, you can tell the player to mark the ball and they have to mark the ball. Rule 15.3a:
    • If your hands are high up at both address & impact, should your iron address position be toe up or flush with the ground?
    • I'm confused by this. How would they know the ball is embedded if it's lost? Or are they just claiming that since it was lost it must have been embedded? Isn't there a rule regarding casual water where if its known or virtually certain your ball is in the casual water you would get free relief even if you cant find your ball? Would the same thing apply to an embedded ball?   Good luck proving this one. I believe there has to be spoken/acknowledged intent by both players in order to make it backstopping. Do you actually see instances where players speak out loud that they are doing it to help out another player?
    • I see this often in casual golf.  Frequently if playing a new course with someone who "Knows" the course they inevitably tell you how to play each hole as if they are your caddie.
    • Played a strange 85-shots round at my home course yesterday. 1/13 fairways and 4/18 greens (12/18nGIR) was actually flattering with the long game I displayed. An absolute horrorshow of ballstriking. Thinned it, sliced it, shanked it, pulled it and duffed it short, left and right.  Hull 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Out 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 In Totalt   Par 5 3 4 3 4 4 4 3 5 35 5 3 4 4 5 3 4 4 5 37 72   Truls Ljådal Utslagssted:     --              Gul              Hvit              Rød           5 3 5 4 4 4 5 4 5 39 8 5 4 4 5 3 5 6 6 46 85                                               Fairway RIGHT   LEFT   RIGHT LEFT RIGHT   HIT 1/6 LEFT   RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT   RIGHT LEFT RIGHT 0/7 1/13   GIR Y Y N N Y N N N Y 4/9 N N N N N N N N N 0/9 4/18   Putts 2 2 1 1 2 1 1 2 2 14 2 2 1 1 1 1 2 1 2 13 27     Upside: From 50 yards and in was excellent and I made 9 up'n'downs from 50 yards and in and no 3-putts. I haven't hit a single 3-putt on my homecourse in the last 5 rounds. My long game can't possibly get any worse and I still shot 85 and 36 stableford points.
