Hey,

New here, been browsing for a couple of months and reading quite a lot. i just started playing 6 months back,  once a week. when i started out i was normally playing 135ish on a par 72 course now am down to abt 105ish depending on my day but the past 4-5 times i have been playing 105ish.

am currently using a wilson deep red set 5-sw and a tm white smoke putter. the drivers woods n the hybrid are a pain always  slice or hit the top of the ball so i just play the irons. i am 36,  5 ft 11 with wrist to floor 37 inches. 5 iron is anywhere from 180-200 yds. the pw is abt110ish. n

now everyone is telling me the clubs are short for me and the grips r too thin. i have been thinking of getting new clubs, what would you suggest ? i am not in a place where i can get a fitting done but have been thinking of the tm burner 2.0 or callaway x24. the ball which i use is the titelist dt solo

your suggestions ?

The Taylormade Rocketballz irons would be a good fit.  Great for beginners, or if you are really struggling to get the ball in the air then I would suggest the Rocketballs Max.  I would probably upgrade the woods too.

Priced at $1,300.00 for just a set of irons may be a big jump for a beginner. I don't think buying the next new big thing is always the best idea. Also, the OP states they are having trouble hitting the hybrids. The RocketBladez Max irons are all basically hybrids. They are very beefed up irons. I'm not sure these clubs are a good fit.

I looked on the New Delhi world guide web site, and it says the city has 20 golf courses.

Could you possibly contact one of the non-country clubs and see if the pro could do a fitting for you? And maybe give you a lesson? With the resort courses, you might be able to get a good set of used clubs which could be tweaked a little to fit your stance and swing.

Just a thought.

Thank you every one. Played today, even 100 on a par 72, 49 on the fromt and 51 on the back, tee shots sucked, shots of the faiway, if i landed on there, sucked the club was twisting in the hand. Putting was perfct. Am also thinking callaway razr x or tm burner 2 what are ur thoughts on these sets ? Am looking to find a fitter though

A fitter would be very good like the others mentioned.  The TM Burner irons would probably be a better choice, but it is mainly up to you and your fitter.

Regarding club length and grip size, If your fingers on your left had sit nicely into your palm when holding the club, stay as you are. If a grip is too small then you may start hitting the ball left and if the grips are too large then you may start blocking out to the right. Don't mess with club length just yet. Unless you are 6" 5 or 4"5 stay as standard for now until your golf gets a little better then have another look at it.

Finally found a fitter and i took my clubs to him ( wilson deep red) he took some measurements and found i needed 1 inch on my clubs and a bigger grip size. This was a basic fitting didn't cost me a penny, he used some chart / standup he had from ping
