Hey all,

I am looking for some help.  I am planning our annual golf trip to Michigan and I am attempting to find some good courses in the Port Huron and Lapeer areas.  Generally our trip consist of golfing primarily at Fore Lakes Golf Club.  However in the past we have played Rattlerun and Blackwater.  I am thinking of play at Copper Ridge and Sugarbush this year.  If anyone could pass on their thought on CR and SB it would be great.  Also if you could suggest some other good courses in the area, I would be grateful.

I live near Copper Ridge.   Not a bad course but not my  favorite either.   The back nine winds thru a condo community.   The course is usually in good shape.

Sugarbush is long and tight .  Bring your straight game.

I love Fore Lakes, it is very nice,   The layout reminds me of the courses up north.   We usually get over there a couple times a year.

If you are coming this way, continue to Grand Blanc and play the Jewel of Grand Blanc (play the Diamond course [north]).  It is fair but challenging, in great condition and enjoyable.

I also recommend IMA Brookwood in Burton.

All of these are near the I-69 expressway.

Thanks for the information.  It's just nice to hear what other golfers think before I drive 6 hours and find out its a goat track.

Which of the two courses do you feel is better?  Just judging by the pictures, Brookwood looks really nice. Also when I checked the Grand Blanc website there was no mention of a second course.

The Diamond course (north) at the Jewel of Grand Blanc is my favorite.  But I'm partial to Brookwood because that's where I took up the game.   Both courses are nice.    The price at each is very reasonable and usually getting a tee time isn't a problem.

Play them both.   They are only 8 miles apart.
