I usually just like to chill on my couch for all 6 hours or so of coverage on Sunday, but have been to a small gathering at friend's houses and on occasion been stuck at my wife's relatives one year when Easter was on Master's Sunday.  Any way (ok, this is a stealth brag thread) we'll be in Hawaii and will have to endure at this bar at our hotel in Maui. Hopefully we can get there early enough to grab a seat.

Yes I do.  I turn on the TV and watch.

And here is the view I enjoy through the glass door next to the TV every day

This year we are:

- playing golf in the mornings (thursday-sunday)

- watching masters in the evening (7pm-12pm here in the UK)

- setting up a 2nd screen next to the action through a laptop with PGA stats website on - to show how each of the players we've got bets on is doing

- rent out tiger woods 14 for anywhere between it

I DVR and watch every second of it, pausing as needed for interruptions with a quick rewind if I miss anything. The Masters is like the Super Bowl for me. Nothing keeps me from watching it. Most of the time, I visit their early coverage on Master.com. http://www.masters.com/en_US/index.html

My favorite tourney , I will watch all of it , mostly on the DVR because of work. But on Sunday the wife knows I'm unavailable .

I sit down in my chair, turn on my television, turn my laptop to Masters.com for streaming, and then don't move for several hours. Rinse and repeat three more times.

Here in NE Ohio, this is going to be the first weekend that I actually get to play a full, real, 18 holes of golf. The weather finally climbed out of the high 20's and 30's and it's supposed to be 60 this weekend. By next weekend, they are calling for sunny skies and mid-70's!!

Since I am off Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday next week, I will be doing the following:

Wednesday night - Stop at my local wine reserve to pick up a few CAO Moontrance and Cohiba smokes along with a few craft beers (most likely Troegs Nugget Nectar and several other IPAs).

Thursday - streaming The Masters coverage from my wife's iPad outside in the sun while grilling lunch and getting my hop vitamins in me.

Friday - repeat of Thursday with the exception of taking a ride up to Golf Galaxy. Come back home and hide my purchases so that I do not have to sleep on the couch when my wife gets home (my back is killing me). Step outside and begin ritualistic sacrifice of a 6-pack.

Saturday - repeat of Friday with the exception that I'll be golfing in the morning. Watching The Masters in the afternoon/evening while arguing with my wife about the importance of The Masters because she keeps changing the channel to Bravo TV reruns of 'The Real Housewives' every time I get up.

Sunday - repeat Saturday to the "T" with the exception of a 20oz. T-Bone and baked potato dinner and a few Jack n' Cokes.

(I do this every year....)

LOL, I just had this dilemma yesterday after buying a new 3-wood and pulling the the garage (clubs were in the basement).

"OK, how do I get this in the house without her seeing.....what is that over there - some clubs I pulled out of my bag last year?  YES!"

Grab the old clubs and the new club and walked right by her, LOL

I haven't missed a shot of the masters since 1996. I take a vac day Thursday and Friday every year. This year, on Saturday, my wife's stupid cousin is having her wedding at a fine country club. I am seething inside. I decided to protest by going to a used clothing store, and buying the ugliest green jacket I could find. My wife is fantastic though, she just laughed. Typically, on Sunday my wife cooks like she would for the Super Bowl, and we watch it together with a couple bottles of wine.

I've done this before too lol. It seems like every time I buy a new club, or clubs, I leave work early knowing that my wife should not be home, but I pull in to see her car and I get a text when I park along the lines of "Hey hun, left work early... going to start some dinner and unwind with some wine!".

Then you go into heart palpitations and you start sweating like you're carrying a few pounds of Cartel supplies or something, " F***! oh sh*t, whaddooidoo, whaddooido, whaddooido!". Next thing you know, I'm sneaking into my own house like a burglar just to sneak my new love into my golf bag milliseconds before I'm greeted by a "Um...what was that?".... me: "Huh?Who? Oh, me? Hi! A guy from work gave me a club to try out.....Steve, yeah his name is Steve"  LOL

Before all the uber saturation of TV coverage on ESPN and CBS, I would turn on the "in-house" feed here at work (CBS) on Tuesday and listen in to the rehearsal commentary by the commentators. they would get all the technical stuff taken care of and timing down and call the practice round as it was a tourny round. The 'between time' during simulated commercials was also LIVE and not edited. Needless to say, things would get salty between everyone. Even on the actual tournament days of Thursdays and Fridays, when the outward 9 wasn't shown on LIVE TV, they were covering the holes for the replay edits. Things got a bit blue on those days as well. So when I would put on the TV on Saturday or Sunday to watch some of it, I would always have a grin on my face because I knew what was going on in the background...

My routine is locking myself in our guest room with an ample supply of food and beer.  My fiance knows the deal: during the majors, she makes plans to do things with her friends and catch up on her reading.

I'm at home with the broadcast on all day. I don't watch every minute, but it's always on in the background. Other than that, it's just some good food.

It's on tv in the middle of the night here and runs from Friday thru Monday (GMT +12) so it's all recorded on my Sky Box. I watch it through the week. It doesn't make any difference if I know who won as I just enjoy the golf. I watch every tournament this way, so I actually watch golf 7 days a week.... yikkes does that make me different????

    • I am a huge numbers guy and if a number can be applied to something, I want to know what it is.  Even in golf, I will pace off short chips as I have a 10 yard, 20 yard, and 30 yard shot whereas I take the club back a certain distance for each.  I have heard the comparison to basketball players that they do not know their exact distance to the basket, they just use their eye sight and adjust which I know a lot of golfers do as well when within a certain distance to the pin.  My question is, what is that distance for you?  I was at the range today and was hitting wayward  balls to a flag that I had no idea what it's exact distance was, I estimate that I was at times as close as 40 yards and as far away as 70 yards.  I was amazed at how accurate I was having not known the distance to the flag.  Temps me to not use my range finder within say 70 yards and go by look and feel.  What say you?
    • Well, it was yesterday but I shot an 88 at Lake Park GC in Lewisville, TX.
    • PXG Orlando, other locations I'm sure its the same, offers a full bag fitting for 25 bucks which is applied to purchase if you are a veteran or active duty, etc. Unfortunately I like my Titleist's.
    • Latest rumor is Clarkson, May and Hammond will have a new team on LIV.
    • That's not just sandbagging, that's cheating. Under Rule 3.3 for posting most likely scores, for example if there was a 2 foot putt for par, one can only take one extra stroke from what they lie, meaning par in that instance, not bogey. I didn't check the other instances but you can.
