To play with a glove or without a glove that is the question?

I always wear a glove other than when Im chipping or putting.  I find that I have more control of the club with a glove.

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?

Always worn a glove and always will. That said I sweat through a couple of gloves a round when it's warm, so ai remove my glove after every shot and that way I also don't end up with one sun tanned hand and one white one.

I'm not convinced that a glove adds anything other than protection from wear and tear to the hands.

When I get into a regular practice regimen, my hands toughen up and I don't need one. If I come come back from a lay off and hit a lot of balls at the range, I need one to stop my left hand, really just the thumb, blistering.

If you beat enough balls that you need a glove for your practice - then maybe it makes sense to play under the same conditions.

I think cord grips are a good move if you have to deal with dampness - either environmental or user-induced.

Don't wear one ......but carry one in my bag.

I find that when it gets real hot in the summer my hands get sweaty and, even drying with a towel, on occasion

one hand slips of the other one. I then put a glove on.

I may give glove-less a try.  I'm just sick of buying them and if this many people who take golf seriously (including at least one pro) are ok with it, that's good enough for me.

I dont wear a glove when I play.  I used to attempt to wear one but I could never find a brand that fit to my liking.  I tried many before giving up because it was bunched up in my palm from being too loose or increased tension from trying to get the fingers to bend from being too tight.  I would rip it off and play much better despite the sweaty grips.  Now I just carry an extra towel for my grips.

I try not to wear one unless absolutely necessary like in driving rain or 95F days when the sweat is dripping.  I wear wrist bands when it gets warm to keep the sweat off.

No glove here... I'll occasionally wear one if I hit a lot of balls when practicing but not on the course.

I like wearing a glove.  But I do think I should take it off between shots (at least those shots that travel like they are 'supposed' to)...

Not a fan of bare hands, not a fan of the glove when my hand gets sweaty too (at the range).

I keep new spares in my bag.  It's a cheap initial investment.

I get a callous on my right bird-flipping finger just below the tip joint, a callous/crack right at the base of my index finger where I press against the shaft on the downswing, and callous/cracks on both thumb joints. All of these I tape. I look like freaking Rafa Nadal on the course.

I get that on same spot on my ring finger.  I think it's kind of a pinch point where the next finger down (for you your pointer finger, for me the middle) pinches it down towards the grip surface.  It's a mighty tough callous by now.

I wear a glove but quite honestly, I really don't know why I do. I did when I first started playing because everyone else was wearing them and I guess I have ever since. I take it off betweens shots too.

Wore a glove for almost 40 years. Switched to Iomic grips and gave up the glove. No glove when really hot. No glove when raining. No glove when cold. Grips feel great without a glove and a wet towel and then dry and the grips get a tacky but not sticky feeling. Great.

I'm sure there are other grips that feel this good but I've yet to play them.

Plus, I was hard on gloves. Wore them out pretty fast with sweat and all. Therefore, the glove was in a constant state of change from good/new to bad/worn-out. So, by my logic, my hands are on the club more consistently without a glove.

Yup, same spot for me on the middle finger.  I wore a band-aid for my first range session this week, and I'm considering getting some sports tape.  You gotta do what you gotta do, right?
