I do everything with my right hand including writing but I golf, bat and shoot a puck left handed. I sometimes wonder if I would be better if I learned the game as a righty as thats my dominant hand and also wonder how many others are doing the same thing? How does it work for you guys? Witch hand and way do you swing? Has anyone ever made the switch after learning the game one way and how did it work out? Thanks for any and all help and info.

No help here. Ha ha!

I don't even know what my dominant hand is. Basically everything I do in life that requires intricate skill I do left handed (writing, eating, shooting bow or rifle, billiards, welding, ect.). Everything that requires strength I do right handed (swinging a hammer, ax, baseball bat, golf club, lift something heavy, punch as hard as I can, ect.).

Funny thing is that the things I do left handed I'm fairly good at doing right handed but the things I do right handed I'm worse than normal right handers when I try to do them left handed.

Then there are a few things that seem to make no difference at all which hand I use (ping pong, darts, shoot a pistol, ect.).

Like MS256 above me I don't know what my dominant hand is in golf. But I've ought about it for about a minute or so and came up with this. I'm a right handed player, so my swing plane is from right to left. In the backswing I try to keep my hands even until they are about hip high. That's where left becomes somewhat dominant, at the top of the backswing I cock my wrists a bit which is led by my right hand. The start of the backswing is a (massive) pull with the left hand, combined with the rotation of my hips (I know my shoulders turn, but I'm not consciously doing this). Okay in the downswing just as my hands are about the night of the bottom of my rib cage, my right hand takes over, my wrists need to uncock and do the "lag" thing where most of the speed comes from. When I hit e ball I should have released my hands, having neither 'lead' the club through the ball. Once the club has hit the ball it's a bit of left hand trailing the club and stopping it before it hits the back of my neck. That's a pretty accurate description if I may say so myself. FYI: I hit the ball hard, have about a 165 yard 7 iron. Trail ever so slightly outside in and have a fade as natural ball flight.
