Can anyone help me? Have a brand new set of Adams a12os, can't hit them like I can using topgolf clubs. I know callaway makes clubs for top golf but can't find out what model they are! Night and day difference can hit topgolf clubs 7 out 10 nice shots the adams maybe 3 out 10 . Clubs look pretty much the same?

Not sure how long you have been playing, but high end clubs are more or less the same.  The fact that you can't hit a certain club is probably a swing flaw.

Maybe the contact you're making on mats and turf is a little different. Mats allow sometimes for a big sweeper to make contact whereas turf will slow down or stop the club head.

I'm curious why you bought them if you can't hit them.  Did you try them out before you bought them?  IMO, I don't think their is a huge difference in golf clubs.  I can hit them all, it's just some feel better than others and that's the ones I go with.

slow down.

One of the things we all try to do with new clubs is swing to fast.  We want to prove to ourselves that the new clubs are going to hit the ball farther, higher, straighter, etc.

Slow down, work on your tempo, relax.  I assure you it isn't the clubs.  Practice, take a lesson or 2, you will do fine once you adjust.

I see the Adams A12OS are a hybrid club. As stated above you need to slow your swing speed down a little. I have a set of cleveland HB3's I haven't hit them in over a year, or 40 rounds. i know I could not take them out to the course and expect good things from my shots with them.  I would need to take them to the range and get them dialed in, off the turf, not the mats.

I hate to disagree with the majority but plenty of things can make one club harder for you to hit than another and I don't know how identical the new clubs are to the old ones.

Some of the things that could make them harder for you to hit, if different:

Shaft lengths.

Lie angles.

Swing weight.

Shaft dynamics (flex, kick point).

Club face size.

Appearance (mostly psycological but still a factor).

Club face weight distribution.

And my main suspect just taking a guess. Less offset on the new A12OS clubs than the old clubs.

I do agree with the majority that it will likely get better as you get used to them, whether they are the "wrong" clubs or not, and some of those things I listed can be easily modified to fit your swing (and some can't).

I have those clubs.  Bought them this past winter.   I like them but it took time to get use to the hybrids over the long irons.

Another angle: Have you had a golf lesson lately? A decent pro can help you decide if your problem is swing flaws, the type of club, or a mix of both.

I have a couple of questions about your Adams set:

1 - Is the set comprised of 4 thru 6 hybrid clubs and the rest regular clubs?

2 - Are you having trouble hitting the 7 iron or the true hybrid clubs?

3 - What kind of clubs were you hitting at Topgolf?  We're they cavity back clubs?

I went from a Adams A3 set to a Adams A7OS set last year.  I found that the A7OS took a little getting used to because they were a game improvement clubs with a wider clubs sole.  This made me set up somewhat with a closed face until I realized the problem.  The hybrids took a little getting used to but they are a solid club for me.  I even added an Adams Super Black hybrid and I use that instead of a 3 wood.

I am also with Clearwater on slowing down.  You will find that by not forcing the club down in your swing and letting it fall steadily that the club will do a lot of the work for you and with the A12OS clubs, they will be very forgiving.

    • I would recommend spending some time at the range and film your swing. You can post it in the Member Swings thread. At the range, you can figure out how to control the driver a bit more. We can offer some pointers once you post in the Member Swings section.
    • With the H4 or the watch, you tag the club before hitting by putting the tag next to the device. The tag is on the club butt end. After a round, you don’t really think about it too much. You just do it. I don’t know how far you are from @phillyk, but he may know an instructor in your area.
    • So the biggest issue right now is marrying the hands down with an athletic turn. I can get stuck not turning. Things get interesting from there.

    • Hi everybody!  I am new to the golf game. I have taken some lessons and got fitted for clubs a couple of months ago. I usually score between 110-120 for 18 holes.  I bought a Stealth driver last year and have been hitting consistently with it 210-230 yds on the simulator. But when I take it out on the course, every drive is a severe slice!  I played 18 holes yesterday at the club where I belong. I removed the driver from my bag and used the 5 iron to drive with. I hit straight 16 out of 18 drives, 180 - 200 yds. I used the 5i - putter for the rest of my game.  I ended the day with a 92. Question: Does it make sense for me to continue playing with irons only until I get further along in my game before I reintroduce the Driver and woods again? Or should I continue to struggle with the Driver and woods and shoot in the 100’s again? To me it’s a no brainer, but for those more advanced I am interested to get feedback.
