@Jeremie Boop the wrist movements from A6-A8 just happen as a direct result of everything you did in your swing prior to that. You can't change it by feeling you "release" differently. You can't actually consciously control what your body is doing after A5 to impact anyway; that part of the downswing happens too quickly.

You need to change what's causing the flip and not the flip itself. How have you been practicing? Are you still working on your priority piece?

Priority peace has been getting my hands down faster, same as it's been for probably a year or so. As in getting my hands more in front of my left leg before impact. I'm just having trouble finding the right method/feel to get that to happen. Thought maybe trying to focus on the feel of rolling the wrists instead of flipping would help that. But if there isn't something that I can use to get that feel then I guess it's not something I can try to focus on.

How have you been doing it and practicing it? You should post some videos of your actual practice. If you're struggling with a particular piece, sharing some videos might provide insight as to why.

I don't have any videos of recent stuff, outside of a quick one I did at the course range the other day, but it wasn't very good. Angles were bad. I've struggled finding any drill that helps with getting my hands down in front of my left leg quicker. Plus, over the winter I just don't think about golf much at all so I didn't do any drills or work over that time.

I second that.

Rolling your forearms over is highly unlikely to help you much. In many, it makes the flip worse.

@Jeremie Boop, at what speed can you hit a ball without a flip? A 7-iron that goes how far? 30 yards? 70?

I'm not exactly sure. I'll have to get something to set my phone up on to record because I switched phones so the one I made before doesn't fit anymore. Once I get some video I'll post it for how fast I can swing and not flip.

If in doubt, hit it shorter.

Course vlog showed me that my posture went to crap, way too bent over. It's funny that I let my posture get out of wack. Should be a decently easy thing to fix so I can get back to focusing on kicking the flip. Probably can do both at the same time though.

Went to a demo day today. Tried out a couple clubs but the biggest thing that I walked away with is a free lesson from the Cobra fitter. He helped me adjust my stance to be more upright and gave me a tip to improve my takeaway. He handed me a 7 iron and told me to hit some punch shots, then handed me the baffler and told me to do the same swing. Hit some nice low draws. Started struggling again then he switched me back to the 7 iron to hit punches again. Switched back to baffler and started piping the low draws again. My half swing punch shots were carrying almost as far as the full swing good shots I had hit before that, even though they were much lower in flight. So, I have a good practice regimen. Now, I know that this is pretty much what I've been told to do for awhile but I think it helped to have someone there to instruct me and give me added tips as I struggled. Added bonus was I found that the Cobra Baffler set at 17.5* of loft is a good fit for me.

Overall not overly disappointed with what I'm seeing. Still fighting the flip obviously, but it looks better. Two other things I notice, chicken wing.. Really need to work on extending out. Also, cupping of my wrist at the top of the backswing, need to flatten that out.

You go shallow, steep, and in attempting to get back to on-plane finally go shallow again, which contributes quite a bit to the flip.

Go to the top super shallow and then rotate your right hip forward hard.

Do it somewhat slowly.

Just so I can be clear, you want me to take an even more shallow backswing for this drill? Should I feel like I'm almost circling around my waist?

I took several sets of videos today at the range.

First set is what felt like 1/2 swing punch shots, obviously way passed 1/2 swing rofl

I redid the FO and tried to slow it down a bit more

The next 2 I did more full swing feeling just to see the difference

Much later in the range session, I got on the flightscope to test a 4/5 Cobra Baffler F6 set at 17.5* that I was hoping would fight the gap between my 3h and driver. However, the it went pretty much the exact same distance with a MUCH better dispersion... So I'm thinking it may be worth replacing my 3h with it and finding something else for the gap between it and the driver or turning the loft down on it to see if it will then hit the distance I need.

So those are still flips.

What's the longest swing you can make with no flip - the shaft inline or prior to lining up?

I was just about to post that after I uploaded the videos into some software i was able to see that it's still the same. I tried slowing down even more but had trouble getting timing down and pulled everything so I didn't record those swings. My new apartment is pretty close to the range so I'll be able to go out there more often and I'll work on slowing down even more to try to get to the point where the flip goes away. I apologize for uploading pointless videos. Seems so strange because, outside of some pulls, I was hitting really good shots at the range tonight after warming up with a lot of those punch swings that I recorded. I imagine I was just having a good night with my timing/compensating.

I think I was confusing slow with short also. I was trying to slow my swing down instead of shortening it more.

Just finish the swing with the shaft STILL behind the hands/arms. Like in my green shirt "hips forward preset drill" video.

Ok, had time to stop at the range today. I have a video of the DTL also but my phone battery is about dead and I don't have my charger with me so if I need to upload it I will once I get home. I hit a full large bucket using only my 8 iron and doing this. I would increase the length and speed of my swing until I lost the ability to hold the club off and then back down a little. Started off just able to make the green in front, which I think is around 70ish yards and by the end I was carrying the ball over 100. Not every strike was good but all I was worried about was being able to keep the club from passing my hands. So, if this looks/sounds correct I will continue doing this.

Finally able to put the DTL view of the drill from today *bonus shank included*. Well, even doing this drill I get steep on the downswing :-( but oh well, unless told otherwise I won't worry about that right now and I'll just focus on keeping the club head from passing my hands.

Or, if 18 holes are played pretty often, out of A, B, and C, and you often play A and C, A is the front and C is the back, regardless of the order you play them in. That way not birdieing C #7 isn't overcome by birdieing the easier A #7 on a day you played it C-A instead of A-C. But, at the end of the day, nobody really cares except yourself.
