I'll get 1 more round in before the revision. It's at my favorite course and I've been hitting the ball well lately. If I putt well, I feel like I should put up a good score and drop my index by a few tenths.
14.5 as of today -- best it's ever been. Unfortunately, my next round removes a 14.3 differential from the list, and four rounds from now I lose a 10.3. Lowest unused differential (11th best of 20 most recent) is 18.5. Hopefully I'm able to play well enough to keep the handicap from creeping up! :-)
Think positive!

+Lihu was right guys. It took me way too long to actually get a round in, but my latest round was a 14.9 differential to replace the 14.3. So while it does mean that my handicap will go up marginally (I probably won't get to play between now and Wednesday), it was a good round. And really, playing to less than a shot greater than my handicap at a Pete Dye course is worth some celebrating on its own!

Mine's, for the most part, accurate and definitely current. The only thing that could throw it off is the fact that I often only have time for 9 hole rounds which usually isn't the best indication of how someone shoots IMO. But the last few years I've been making a much bigger effort to put everything in despite being told it's good to solidify my handicap. Also, it's much more rewarding to play well when you do it by tournament rules rather than leaving it to the imagination.

I have played so little golf in June, that I haven't posted in this thread since the June 1st revision!!  I only posted 5 rounds in the month of June.......two of them being combined 9's!!!!!    This is pure INSANITY!!!  I need to get with the program and play more golf in July!!  June was a very wet month and I sort of opted to play less.

I can't play tomorrow(last day of June), so I know my July 1 revision.................I will drop 1/10th............down to 3.3 index. The 1's are still in range, but I need to start playing more.

Hopefully I'll get my act together and play more in July......so I can crack into the 2's before the end of next month!!

Finally had my first cut for the year, down from 21.6 to 20.4 after a net 69 on the weekend! I had 50 out and was struggling to see myself saving breaking 100 yet came back in with 41 :) yay me! Regards Mailman

I'm calculating my handicap for the first time using a spreadsheet. Please let me know if any of the calculations are wrong. Luckily the slope of 113 makes the differential calculations easy.

course rating: 64.6
slope: 113
best 10: 73, 75, 76, 76, 77, 75, 77, 78, 73, 76
differential: 8.4, 10.4, 11.4, 11.4, 12.4, 10.4, 12.4, 13.4, 8.4, 11.4
average differential (AD): (8.4 + 10.4 + 11.4 + 11.4 + 12.4 + 10.4 + 12.4 + 13.4 + 8.4 + 11.4)/10 = 11
handicap: 0.96 * AD = 10.56

I don't plan to enter any tournaments so I don't want a real handicap and I'm not even sure I'm going to bother to keep calculating it. I was just curious.

There are free program to keep track of HI.  E.g, you can use Yahoo (google "Yahoo Handicap Index").   All you have to do is enter the scores.

My handicap moved up to 17.5, mainly due to scoring in very narrow range.   My average actually went down a bit during the period.

Haven't been able to play in several weeks because that south eastern heat and humidity just doesn't want to let up. If it's 89 or below I'll play, but haven't had a day below 95 in over a week. Come on fall!

I apologize for having a spam URL in my signature and will not do it again.

Down .2 to 7.2 but I'm starting to play better, so hopefully it drops more

Went from 0.7 to +0.9 in this last revision... Playing really well the last couple weeks. Trying to play smarter and it is paying off. I need to stop getting nervous when I get under par.... -2 through 15 my last round and shot even, -1 through 15 the round before that and shot +3. I don't know why I'm choking so much recently.
