As I'm absorbing the setup changes, my scores are getting a little better, and my index is creeping slowly downward, now to 5.2.

Below 17 for the first time since 2012.  Mostly a result of the 86 I shot in the second round of the tournament a week ago.  One can hope that it's a trend, but the first round was a 96, so.......

Oh, I unfortunately shot a 92 in the U.S. Open qualifier, followed by a string of 83, 78, 85, and 84. Looks like I'll be struggling to keep it below a ten by the time the Newport Cup rolls around... 

The worst that actually happened for me, which got me a lot of sandbagger comments from the men's club, was me flaring out 4 tee shots OB in my last round with the men's club. I'm not entirely certain what happened there, because I haven't done it since, but it meant a 73 instead of a otherwise great round. raised my handicap up to a +1.1 too! I've been trying to find the button to edit that on my profile, but it's escaping me.

Had enough good rounds to go to 13.8. Had some poor rounds too but the hcp system weights good rounds more than poor ones. Potential not average.

Hey, I took no worse than double bogey on each hole with a flared right tee shot. It was weird because I'd send one about 50 yards OB, then stripe one right down the middle and make either bogey or double with no problems. Happened in the middle of the round on holes 8, 10, 11, and 12. I had no warning of it coming (nothing fading off to the right in advance) and haven't seen it since, so it must've been some weird fluke.

That said, I figured out how to update my handicap index on the website. Turns out I was missing the large "Edit Profile" button in the upper right corner.

Dropped from 5.8 to 4.5, been playing really well.

As of May 1st.....I am up to 3.0.   I finished 2016 at 0.8 and this "spring HC bump" is just as inevitable as both taxes and death........LOL

   In fact......finally!....I bumped my last couple low rounds from 2016!!.... I am trending 3.9 which is an excellent indicator of the current state of my game now.  I am happy to finally get the low rounds from last year off...............as I am every year!  This gives me a good base point......and point of reference to work from going forward.

Ditto. Am at a 2.1 and right now with 14 rounds in the book for spring (all tournament) I trend up to a 3.0. Hoping to get one or two more rounds in to bump it lower.

Bump it lower? What?  I am hoping to dump the good rounds from last year so I know how bad I sukkk at golf now in 2017.  

 

You want to get 1-2 more in to bump it lower......maybe we are in different worlds.... just maybe!  Not sure!

How in the world do you manage to play only tournament rounds?

This thread shamed me into updated my handicap. As I suspected....I'm on the way up. Now that I can play more often, hopefully, I can get back down to around scratch.
