Not sure why people moan about duffner's waggle motion before the shots. In my opinion, it doesn't even take that long and at least it's fairly interesting to watch it as you don't know when he's going to pull the trigger!

Jim Furyk's routine for putting however.... christ, how ridiculously annoying is that

Yup. If me and one of my playing partners had all that, we'd probably be closer to 2.5 hours.

Hell, even searching for our balls all over the place and shooting 90s we can do it in under 3.

Either way, good for Dufner...dude played his ass off and kept his composure.

How cool was it of Keegan to run out and hug him too?

Dufner proved me wrong, his irons were laser accurate and he figured out the putter, even on shorter putts.

I'd hate to see Furyk and Keegan Bradley get paired up, the round would take 8 hours.

What was the deal with Furyk on 14 (I think) tee box when he turned around and finger wagged someone? An ill-timed "Get in the hole" or "mash potatoes"? Crowds are inceasingly more obnoxious with all the shout-outs.

Gallery was trying to time their shouts to the exact point of impact.  Some were jumping the gun and Furyk didn't appreciate it.  I think it was a combination of them being obnoxious and the extreme pressure Furyk was under trying to catch Dufner that led to the reaction he had.

Hopefully, this drives the PGA to set some rules or make allowances for players to eject spectators as needed.

Fun finish.  Another fat guy with 3 necks wins, and spitting chew is always good for TV.  But he has a hell of a game (those drives, those approach shots!!).  I'd have enjoyed the tourny if either Jim or Duff won.

Couldn't agree more. They should be ejected and "roughed up" from security on the way out. Bunch of drunken idiots who just want 3 seconds of "fame".

They have to do something about it. At Augusta, they would immediately be escorted off the premises.

Did anybody hear the drunken yahoos yelling during the postgame analysis on the Golf Channel? I don't know how they were able to concentrate.

I don't much care about announcers and their post game (inane) chatter, but it certainly shows that the party hasn't stopped once the players are gone.

I continue to like the two ideas:

1 - players (marshalls, etc anyone officially with the tournament) can eject anyone they feel they need to.

2 - networks should mute it all out

I hate to offend most of the Americans on here, but the over exaggerated shouting never happens anywhere but America.

Nobody here would disagree. But there's the rub. We are all (Americans) tagged with the same rude characterization because of the behavior of a few idiots.

I like Duffner's waggle, I read somewhere a while ago that he has no set number in his head. He just waggles until he feels comfortable then he pulls the trigger. I was intersted to see if he would waggle longer then normal over his tee shots on Sunday fown the stretch, but he didnt seem to at least in my eyes. Little things like that make watching golf more fun to me. When I explain things like that to my wife though she thinks I have a problem LOL.

It didn't use to happen much here either...I think it MAY have started at fun spectator holes like the par 3 in AZ and spilled over, or maybe it has just been encouraged by guys like Howard Stern??

I like the AZ par 3 concept as I think it is fun for fans and players, but the shout outs really just come from a handful out of thousands of spectators and are not appreciated by the majority.

How about they move the Waste Management out of Phx, jack up the prices on booze at Tour events, and toss anyone out who yells after tee shots. I never thought I'd say this but golf needs to get a little more Country Club and less NFL if that makes sense.

I think it's mainly because of the fratboy (correct word? :D!) culture you have over there. In my experience a lot of americans tend to be overly confident with themselves, which tends to make them more outspoken and then you get things like this (when drunk)!

The AZ thing is good, because it's accepted to do it, but to do it that close to a player in a major championship especially, isn't really on.

Unfortunately for you guys that's very true. Obviously we are quite a reserved bunch, but everyone over here hates it with a passion. Even on the Skysports commentary, they are constantly complaining about it as well as Butch Harmon to be honest!
