I have been playing a new course recently and I am having major problems getting out of bunkers. My problem is I am either picking the ball clean and going over the green or I am blading it and usually going over the green anyway. If I get lucky it will hit the lip and roll onto the green.  The sand is much softer on this course than I am used to so I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.  I am just looking for a swing thought to catch the sand first. Thanks.

Everything Mike said and focus one inch behind the ball.  That is your beginning entry point.  Experiment from there for your spot.

If you don't have a practice area, when you are on the course and the opportunity presents itself drop a few balls and practice.

    • 43 (6 over) Couple bogies, couple Pars, a birdie and no doubles. Not bad for first 9 of the year.
    • Most the stuff I found on Instagram and just copy and mix it up. a few of my favorites: Clean>Squat>Press> March Around the body >catch >Squat> press I also hold a the kettle bell upside down with both hands on the handle. Squat when I stand back up I lift the kettlebell up over and behind my head and hold then repeat
    • Not sure this is the best thread but, if the rain holds off, today is my 1st round of the year.  Getting ready I can not find my Shot Scope.  I guess I put it away too well for the winter and thus that is may "Winter Depression".  I'm sure I put it somewhere that made sense at the time.
    • 44+39 for an 83. Figuring stuff out.
    • Day 288 - putted on my mat for a while listening to a presentation. Checking my head movement in the mirror, then just focusing on a good stroke.
