I saw a guy using 2 balls on the course

Playing a second ball during slow times with no one behind you is a great time to compare different balls from the same conditions. I don't recommend doing it on the first tee.

A good thing to do is to play two balls and pick the ball that ended up worst and hit both from there and repeat.

I can't remember who he was, but a famous golfer said in an interview that he would play 2 balls... with one he had to draw every shot, the other he had to fade

Nothing wrong with it if out on your own for practice.

I almost always hit 2 balls if there is OB right

I just started playing recently and never thought about playing 2 balls but it sounds like a great idea for training. I will definitely try this next round, the course I play is usually completely dead when I go.
